Yeah, the next time the Twins drop a challenge this bad, I want to see it from start to finish and try to spot the exact moment in the dugout closeup when Rocco starts listening to his right shoulder.

Seems pretty clear the outlier is the .995 OPS on 2019, not what happened before or since.

 

He never put up the kind of numbers in the minors that would support the idea he's anywhere close to that good.

 

However, he also shouldn't be this bad.

 

Hopefully he levels off into a dangerous kind of .750-ish hitter. That's my estimate of where he sort of "belongs."

He did have a OPS of .928 one year in AAA, so there is some precedent for his outbreak. I don’t know what’s happened to him, but he has the potential to be a really good hitter.

It's taking a long time to hear about why Buxton left the game.

 

I think that on weekends it takes longer to get results for mail-in stool sample tests for migraines.

Because the first thing I do as a fan after doinking a fly ball and then running over to pick it up is take off my shirt and flex...

Yeah, well, I meant to add that on the play to his right that Plonk did make, Nick Gordon does not make that play. Not unless he has improved greatly during the intervening two years. He just doesn't.

Seems like his doing a fair bit of it.

To be fair, he does have a little more surface area to protect than most pitchers do.
