I understand if Jose had a high pitch count, let the bullpen take over and preserve the No-No. But pulling him so early just takes the fun out of it. It takes the show away from someone who has worked so hard to earn it.

Unless there's a dude we don't know about doing web searches on your browser with cookies on, you don't know the beginning of "weird" ads.

I'm just going to throw this out there. Is Cruz t really so old he can't play 9 innings in the outfield? Why is it off the table?

If they don't let a guy who is nearly perfect through 6 with a good pitch count complete the game, they won't let an old guy play the outfield. Because statistics... :'(

Unfortunately, in Cruz’s case he was too old to play the outfield at about 25.

Long answer trying to be short, he practices in the field and carries an OF/2B/1B glove. But his range is very limited and he just hasn't been in the field for years. Could he? Yes. But think Chilli Davis when pressed, or Willingham, or Thome at 3B at 40.

 

He could do it. But you don't want to see him do it.
