The Twins put a stop to their 6 game losing streak last night with a 3-2 win over Chicago. Tonight they look to take the series, playing their final game of 20 in a row before a timely off-day tomorrow. The White Sox sit on top of the ALC standings with under 30 games to play, but the Twins can bring themselves into half a game with a win over the Southsiders tonight.

The Pitchers: RHP Reynaldo Lopez  (0-1, 8 IP, 9.00 ERA, 8 K's) vs RHP Jose Berrios (2-3, 36 IP, 4.75 ERA, 39 K's)

The Twins scored a bunch of runs off of Lopez the first time they saw him, but Berrios got knocked around on opening day. Both pitchers have been up and down this year, with Lopez landing on the IL, and Berrios having struggles throughout the season. Look for Berrios to be good tonight facing a majority of right handed bats. Lopez is a wildcard. He has the stuff, but hasn't put it together.

The Lineups:

Twins

RF Max Kepler L
3B J. Donaldson R
SS J. Polanco S
DH Nelson Cruz R
LF E. Rosario L
1B Miguel Sano R
2B Luis Arraez L
CF Jake Cave L
C Ryan Jeffers R

White Sox

SS Tim Anderson R
3B Yoan Moncada S
C Y. Grandal S
1B Jose Abreu R
LF Eloy Jimenez R
DH E. Encarnacion R
CF Luis Robert R
RF Nomar Mazara L
2B N. Madrigal R

Both teams get help back from injuries, with the Twins getting The Bringer of Rain back, and the White Sox getting young stud Yoan Moancada back at the hot corner. Byron Buxton is out after returning from injury last night, something Rocco said was predetermined. We saw Illdamero Vargas get DFA'd this afternoon to make room for Josh Donaldson. Jeffers starts again, but probably only until the 6th or 7th inning, a spot we have seen him get pinch hit for a lot this year (probably for Ehire, because Rocco)

This Day in History: 2001 - For the first time in major league history, four games end with only one run scoring in the contest. The Yankees, Padres, Astros, and Blue Jays beat their respective opponents Red Sox, Diamondbacks, Brewers, and Tigers, 1-0.

Go Twins!!!

PS: Sorry for getting this up late, and for not getting my usual introduction in.

Perkins: "There goal has got to be winning games."

Profit Perkins will cleave the banks of the central division leading the Twins to victory

Seriously, why is Buxton not playing tonight? Just for moral purposes play him. I have a weird feeling we won't see him again this year

Buxton hit the wall last night making a catch. Are we sure he's OK?

The Apache swooped in and pulled him out of the hot LZ. Quick stop at sick bay, and then off for some well deserved R&R.

White Sox broadcasters sniping at Polanco's sidearm throwing style. Pains me to have to agree with a sentiment coming from them.

What a horrible umpire!!!!!

Yeah, but.... swinging through a center-cut fastball for strike 3 is all on Cruz, and pulling the outside pitch for a DP grounder is pretty much Rosario's own doing.
