MNT1996 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Twins need to do something about Sano. The amount of strikeouts he's had so far this season is embarrassing. Hopefully the Twins are giving Kirilloff some reps at 1B in St. Paul.

LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Is Miguel just one of those “is what he is” guys?He has to fix it otherwise he has to go
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 He has to fix it otherwise he has to goA nice thought but he just signed that 3 year extension...
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Yikes, lots of Sanó hot takes here. Yeah, he’s been brutal. He also missed all of training camp and is known to be pretty brutal when shaking off rust. It just sucks that he’s doing it in a 60 game season when every game matters so much.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 This man is going to be hitting homers well into his 50s. Julio Franco who?
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Yikes, lots of Sanó hot takes here. I wish we were watching more hot takes and fewer overheated whiffs!

ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Well, last May we were pretty unanimous on the Sano-is-such-a-drag bus, and then he picked things up. He has a month left, I'm mildly optimistic.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 well he’ll probably only have 100 strike outs this yearPeople said the same thing last year when he started so badly. He didn’t have any kind of training camp and this is his 19th game. Yeah, he looks like a trash fire. We all see it. But no one makes smart baseball decisions on a long term piece after 75 PAs.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 well he’ll probably only have 100 strike outs this weekFTFY.
Channing1964 Verified Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 is it just me or is Marwin just a way better defender than we have been giving him credit for? Every time we need a big play on D, it seems like he steps up and does it. (he's not hitting too bad either)

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 In hindsight I wonder if the FO regrets not adding Balazovic or other SP options on the 60 man. The opener is working tonight. It feels like we’ve seen the opener/bullpen method more this year than the entire 2019 season.
wabene Verified Member Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Gonzo is healthier this year. Probably a factor

The opener is working tonight. It feels like we’ve seen the opener/bullpen method more this year than the entire 2019 season. Its almost funny that they had plans for up to nine starters going into camp and ended up with three plus Dobnak stepping up within a week of the season starting.

It feels like we’ve seen the opener/bullpen method more this year than the entire 2019 season. They could have added him at any point, but it's clear they're not interested in putting him on the roster (most the pitchers in St. Paul aren't prospects nor MLB caliber). He's certainly not MLB ready, having only thrown 73 innings at Fort Myers (A+). They have Duran, Colina, and Chalmers ready if need be.
