Good afternoon and welcome back to another exciting game thread experience from Twins Daily! Too bad we snapped the 6 game win streak yesterday...I was actually thinking we could go 58-2 this year.  Regardless, 57-3 is still a good year! I will say this is one of the most talented Minnesota Twins team I've ever seen (over 35 years). I only wish we were playing a full season. This group of players could put up some awesome numbers over a full 162 game schedule. It's nice to sit atop the win column over the rest of the league as well. The +29 run differential is nice to look at too.  Only the Dodgers are better at +33. I think that says a lot about our team even when our offense doesn't seem to be firing on all cylinders yet.

 

O.K. - back to tonight's game and the start of a three game series against the Kansas City Royals! As a way to encourage game thread participants to stick around longer tonight I thought I would recycle a game thread opener I did a couple of years ago...people are actually still talking about it today.

 

Tonight and tonight only we will be giving out some amazing prizes for the best predictions and guesses to a few of my simple questions below. All prizes will be determined and awarded by me. I will also act as judge and jury for any ties or disagreements.  All prizes will be awarded at the end of the evening*

 

Whoever guesses the correct number or comes the closest to the actual number will be eligible for prizes. Please have your guesses posted before the end of the 1st inning to qualify.

 

Question 1: How many broken bats will there be in tonights game?

Question 2: What Twins player will have the most hits?

Question 3: How many strike outs will Devin Smeltzer record tonight?

Question 4: How many total stolen bases will there be in tonights game?

Question 5: What will be the official time for tonights game (hrs./min.)

 

*If I drink too much tonight I might fall asleep in my chair and sleep through the end of the game. In that event I will try to post winners in the morning sometime after I've had some coffee. All prize winners are responsible for taxes and all other local, county fees/surcharges and also assumes all risk and liabilities associated with winning. Twins Daily probably doesn't sanction this game either.

Here's to offensive breakouts...... might need it, too. The Royals scored 13 against the White Sox yesterday, and Smeltzer is on the hump.

As long as Cruz only sits once every two weeks, I'm fine with it. He is on the wrong side of 40, after all.

I have a 1, 2, 3 of my own.

 

We've been stuck down in Guatemala since early March due to the airport being closed and whatnot. So we decided to start feeding our little street cat, who was so shy and skinny and we just had to help her out. Well fast forward five months and the cat had babies, and she's now finally started bringing them around our house (ie: "The Food Source"). We've been rather delighted to see them, we were certain they didn't survive out there but apparently mama cat has been hiding them and feeding them well, and now they're ready to take the next step!

I think Junis goes 7 or 8 innings and the Twins get a dinger or two but not enough to win this one.  Where is Rowson when you need him?  Oh that is right he is with the hot hitting Marlins.  The Marlins that couldn't hit at all last year.

Agreed! It wasn't really "our cat" though - she was just some skinny street cat and we put out food for her. She hasn't ever really spent time inside the house, we have no idea where she goes most of the time. That said, we do want to spay her and the kittens (if we can catch 'em) when the time is right.

Garver needs to start swinging the bat. Letting too many pitches in the zone go by. Part of his problem is he isn't seeing as many fastballs this year and is missing the fastballs he's gotten, because he's sitting on the offspeed.

I was just kidding you. I haven't neutered my lab yet either. Vet told me to wait for two years...Makes a better hunting dog...Funny though, I've seen a lot of yellow, little mixed dogs running through the neighborhood lately.

Completely agree. He looks at more cookies then anyone on the team.
