HawksNest Verified Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Can't drop back to back losses to the Pirates and Royals, come on boys
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I agree. Just not super confident in bailey and quite honestly Dobnak either. If Hill is out and berrios is shaky, yikes. Just my two cents Nah, dude, I totally agree with you. Dobnak got rocked by the Yankees last year. Sure he can handcuff the Pirates and White Sox, but we need guys who can take on the Yankees. Berrios isn't the number 1 guy. Maybe Maeda could throw a good game. Pineda perhaps. I don't know who that guy may be right now. Maybe Luis Castillo of the Reds? Certainly don't see Matthew Boys as that guy. Mike Minor? Would you give up the farm for DeGrom; assuming that he'd be available? Jonathon Gray? Robbie Ray? Pipe dream, obviously, would be to trade Lewis, Kirilloff, and Balazovic for DeGrom or one of those three for Gray. Castillo is a stud. I'd do two of those three for him. Robbie Ray is a viable option; may not cost a ton either, but would still give up one of those three for him. I'd try to keep Kirilloff as long as possible with Lewis being my preferred trade bait.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I'm a bit surprised Wisler went back out there after making the end of last inning so interesting, but here we are... But, but, but... he's got great spin rate on his slider.... Not sold on Wisler at all.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Can't drop back to back losses to the Pirates and Royals, come on boysThis is what happens when 3/5 of your rotation is out. Unless you’re hitting the bombas with guys on base it’ll be tough
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I thought we hit the homeruns...
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I thought we hit the homeruns...Been kind of a sleepwalk feeling at times offensively *ducks*
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Lineup has to show up at some point
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Been kind of a sleepwalk feeling at times offensively *ducks*I said this yesterday (talking about the entire Pittsburgh series) and got flamed for it
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I said this yesterday (talking about the entire Pittsburgh series) and got flamed for it Stats back this up. Twins lineup has been mediocre so far this year. The pitching has been what the team has been using to win ballgames.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I said this yesterday (talking about the entire Pittsburgh series) and got flamed for itA lot of early runs tends to do that I guess.
bighat Verified Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Awful strike call on Adrianza there. Unforgivable.
bighat Verified Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Bad call changes the inningYep, should be 2 on, 1 out. Late in a 1-run game it's just brutal to see that. I know robo-umps have drawbacks but I think every time we see this kind of thing, more people will call for them.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Polanco has looked a lot sharper in the field this year.
bighat Verified Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Helluva play by Polanco. All year with this guy out there.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Well that was a frightening moment... Glad Sano is okay?
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I'm a homer. For sure a homer, but Jack and Dick need to quit talking about Theilbar like he's going to be staying in the majors.

blindeke Verified Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 When is the last time Tyler Duffey pitched?
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Twins have a lot of “good story” pitchers don’t they Well, hell, he's from Minnesota. Probably a good guy. Likes to hunt and fish.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Well that was a frightening moment... Glad Sano is okay?Me too. And apparently the runner is for the contact. Not often called that way.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 They remember the season is only 60 games right? A lot of Thielbar early on this year...
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I thought Thielbar's fastball was around 94-95 (with his new approach/arm slot)? So far between his two appearances I've seen 89-91.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Ok let’s wake up a bit and hit that vaunted royals bullpen

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Why does this feel like this game is being treated like a throw away game?
