MNT1996 Verified Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Really hoping the Twins don't have Perez on the postseason roster
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 I want to win games first and foremost, as that what counts most. While a record is nice to get, it just doesn’t matter to me ... winning games does. So, if that’s the trade off, a record for a championship? I’ll take the championship any day of the week, and Sundays. Of course it’s nice to beat the Yankees anywhere, anyhow. Wasn’t what I meant. I just don’t care as much about a record as I do about winning baseball games in the post season. It's NOT a trade off. There is NO trade off. Each stands on it's own. Of course all fans want a championship. You are, of course welcome to you thought process, however. And I am certainly not one to tell you how to think or what to do.

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Adrianza should be fired. He started Perez.

wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Adrianza should be fired. He started Perez.Seems to be a winning strategy so far!
big dog Verified Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Bad luck on that line drive by Miller. He can play a little.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Not sure why everyone is surprised Perez doesn't look very good, he's just not a good starting pitcher. He has been very good against lefties this year, however, so if he makes the team to face some dangerous left-handed hitters, I'd be up for that. But if they want him to pitch multiple innings, that's just not going to end well. Also, the Yanks and Twins are tied at 306 HRs!
big dog Verified Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Nice play by Torreyes at third, good inning by Perez.

And I think that is the plan ... or was before Gibson’s illness became too overwhelming and Pineda’s suspension. But we have a Berrios, Odorizzi, Dobnak ... that will be our starting rotation for the ALDS.

And he’s hardly been a nuclear meltdown, just his recent self.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 A bit late to the thread, but per SQUIRREL's instructions here's my highlight. I chose it because of the center fielder.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 "Twins infielder Luis Arraez was diagnosed with a Grade 1 sprain in his right ankle, an MRI exam revealed on Sunday. The Twins will take things day by day and pursue aggressive treatment, though there is no timeline for Arraez's return to action. Arraez is wearing a protective boot for now, and the ankle is stable, but the question is when normal function and range of motion can be restored and how the pain can be managed. Grade 1 is considered the least severe level of sprain." That's the best news from yesterdays bumper cars with Astudillo. At least he got a golf cart ride. Helped the drama. Perhaps he will take a quick "Circle of Awareness" course while he is getting treatments.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 I have two wishes today. Health for all our players. And Home Runs... Lots of Home Runs and even more Home Runs after that.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Also, the Yanks and Twins are tied at 306 HRs! Judge, solo, in the third. This is fun. MORE HOME RUNS!

Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 https://twitter.com/Twins/status/1120513457491795975This was great. Dick mis-called the relay. It was Schoop who did it, and it was one of many examples of his arm being way above average for a 2B.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 lol ... I have my windows open ... and whoever is singing the National Anthem at today's Bears-Vikings game is practicing. Guess I'll hear that again in 3 hours. Two and a half hours before gametime is too late. If you don't know that song by now you never will.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 29, 2019 Author Posted September 29, 2019 Two and a half hours before gametime is too late. If you don't know that song by now you never will. Concur, however, sound check rehearsal is different from practicing.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Watch Schoop get the starts in the ALDS and be a hero and be a monster. It doesn't have to be a negative. He could very well take the opportunity and make it happen.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 I'm a nitpicky kind of guy. Dick just said a word that sounded like momento. He probably meant memento. It's "mem" from the root remember, not "mom" from the word moment.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 That's the spirit! I got a spirit yes I do... I got spirit... how bout' you.

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 I got a spirit yes I do... I got spirit... how bout' you. I do, I do! ....... no pom-poms, though.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 I do, I do! ....... no pom-poms, though. Phew, that was close... I was worried you were going to type it back and get us into an inescapable loop.
big dog Verified Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 To be fair- this is a much better Perez right now. If he could bottle it he’d make a fortune.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 To be fair- this is a much better Perez right now. If he could bottle it he’d make a fortune. He just got away with a no movement 94 mph fastball right down the middle. I guess it is only a mistake if someone hits it, eh? Whoops........ didn't get away with that one. Torreyes trying to be a hero after the bobble. They just can't help themselves.
big dog Verified Member Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Well, that was a full-fledged jinx right there, wasn’t it. My bad.
