Brian450 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Dick Bremer gets kind of excited on routine fly balls, doesn't he?
insagt1 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 This game is a clone of yesterdays. Tigers not hitting but scoring in the first, while Twins can't get anything going properly. The 'd' tonite is very disturbing. They look like they have already clinched and are just cruising. Cron is playing but it doesn't look very promising with his bat. He just can't mash the ball anymore with that injured thumb. I agree though...why can't we do to the tigers what Cleveland did to Chicago last night?
Blake Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 The Twins played Mauer last year didn’t they?I'd also point out that Mauer's knees were obviously in much better shape than Cabrera's. I probably wouldn't notice so much if it weren't so obvious that Cabrera isn't close to 100 percent.
Brian450 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 That wasn’t really known for sure until after the season. And it isn’t unreasonable to think that Miggy could hang ‘em up after the year and let the Tigers’ insurance pay his salary the next few years (actually, I would bet the Tigers would LOVE that).Disagree. Mauer knew. Molitor knew. And the rest of us found out in game #162... You saw this, right?
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 This game has been very boring! We need to score some runs off Van Halen!
Blake Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Dick Bremer gets kind of excited on routine fly balls, doesn't he?That is what's known as a "Bremergasm."
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Dick Bremer gets kind of excited on routine fly balls, doesn't he?He’s turning into Harry Carray. “There’s a high fly ball to right... ...Ryno camps under it, easy out. Hey, did you know that Sandberg spelled backwards is...”
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Nice plate appearance LaMonte!

stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Author Posted September 25, 2019 Cron has been pretty darned good with the glove over there, hasn't he???Well, I'd say Cron has been pretty good at first, but he's made quite a few errors, much like Schoop. Cron has 8 errors at first in 113 games.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 I'm just getting here. I've seen video evidence suggesting that Miggy Cabrera scored from 1B on a double. I submit that the footage has been doctored. Can anyone confirm or deny this ascertion?
wabene Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Dick Bremer gets kind of excited on routine fly balls, doesn't he?Probably goes to see the Blue Angels every time they're in town.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Disagree. Mauer knew. Molitor knew. And the rest of us found out in game #162... You saw this, right? And it’s just as likely that Miggy and Gardy know.

Can anyone confirm or deny this ascertion? From what I saw, and I admit to taking a nap while Cabrera was rounding the bases, it is indeed true Miggy scored from 1st on a double.

Pius Jefferson Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Twins haven't scored a run in 13 of the 14 innings this series.
Brian450 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Cron looks pretty close to helpless at the plate. Unfortunately, so does Garver. I'm concerned with that hip and would be tempted to rest him for a bit and play Astudillo against lefties...
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Was there any particular reason Gardy pulled Norris?
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Garver looks like something is wrong.
insagt1 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 I don't think Garver should be playing. His swings are painful and he has fanned all 3 times. How about this: Twins have lost 13 straight post season games since 2004. They are 87-35 against Yankees in recent years. These are a couple trends that have to be terminated

PDX Twin Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 I don't think Garver should be playing. His swings are painful and he has fanned all 3 times. And they are asking him to squat behind the plate ~150 times?

Brian450 Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 And it’s just as likely that Miggy and Gardy know. Dude is locked up until end of 2023... No way Detroit doesn't try to extract as much value as possible out of the man (at a guaranteed 31 million dollars a year or so, I'd be doing the same thing).
wabene Verified Member Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 With the way Dobnak looks tonight he may be honeymooning at Disneyworld!
