LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Far be it from a Twins starter to throw a shutdown inning after taking a big lead
etwink Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Throw strikes.....but don’t use your 4th best pitch on a guy with 1 career HR! Man, Perez is a riddle inside an enigma.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 I like Sano’s sunglasses
twinssporto Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 KC spotting us 6 runs in the first inning was probably overkill. A 4 run lead is probably more realistic.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Nice inning Twins, Perez is awfull, Better keep scoring 6-2 will it be all we need ?
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 So Martin is going to follow Gibson out the door right?Gibson will hold the door for him
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 With a 6 run lead one would think that Perez would stop flipping nibbling but then starts 2-0. This is theRoyals, throw strikes!!Love how Sano has turned himself into an asset. The BA is still poor, but man is he really destroying baseballs lately. is a .245 BA bad for a guy who hits 30+ homers with an OPS over .900?
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 is a .245 BA bad for a guy who hits 30+ homers with an OPS over .900?I'd like it to be higher, but I'm not going to complain much about it. It is 2019 after all.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 All the squirrels in my back yard are barefoot.Perhaps you should be looking for shoes too! Winter is coming, you don't want them to freeze their paws off do you?

etwink Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 I’ll say it again; Gibson is a realistic bounce-back case. He had things figured out for 18 months and then you can honestly believe that his sickness is the cause for his troubles (though I can see the FO giving up on his as well), but Perez was God awful for years, had 3 months of success, and now he’s God awful again. LaTroy Hawkins said it himself; the league has adjusted, now Perez needs to adjust again....but can he? He’s given very little glimpses the last few months that he has it in him.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 BTW, Philadelphia at Cleveland is on ESPN at 5:30 CDT today. I'm suggesting this game thread could extend to that game for anyone who is interested.Phillies are my second favorite team! . . . today.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Please get him out of the game.
etwink Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 is a .245 BA bad for a guy who hits 30+ homers with an OPS over .900?Yeah, I know. It’s like having a Porsche and complaining that it doesn’t have a trailer hitch! I’m just being picky. Everyone gushes about his amazing eye for pitches; one would think that’d translate into a higher BA. But then again I can’t hit a 95mph fastball.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 It is sad to say that even with a six run lead, Perez does not give this team a chance to win.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Please get him out of the game. Not sure I trust the pen to hold it together for 5+ innings either.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Gave up a lead yesterday, let’s not do it again
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 News flash, Rocco. Perez is still poo.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Martin Perez team option DECLINED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
twinssporto Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Time for a mound discussion.
FLTwinsGuy Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Lol we really are going to blow a 6 run lead arent we?
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 This just means that the bats can't go silent for the rest of the game again.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Seriously, Rocco, you have such a quick hook when guys are pitching well but, by God, if someone is struggling, you let them throw the same amount of pitches. WIN THE GAME.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Only the Twins need to be concerned about only a three run lead
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Not sure I trust the pen to hold it together for 5+ innings either. I don't trust Perez to hold it together for 5 pitches.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Somebody wake Rocco up....
tvagle Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Wish we would have just kicked the extra point in the 1st instead of going for 2
70charger Verified Member Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Big oof on this inning. It's time for the hook.
