FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 6-2 Tribe. Double rats.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 not to mention, the Twins haven't won anything yet. They dont have room to needlessly rest anyone, least of all the guy they consider their #1 starter.Should be doable to skip a Berrios start. Some 5.5 game leads have been made up in September, but Cleveland looks shaky.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Red Sox now have—count’em—twenty one (21) pitchers on their team. #SeptCallups#NeverGiveUp#DontEverGiveUp#JimmyValvano https://www.masslive.com/redsox/2019/09/boston-red-sox-active-roster-includes-21-pitchers-i-dont-feel-bad-about-it-alex-cora-says.html?fbclid=IwAR00phYgPl5r4nKQny85Ua2AFlAwcDUl6Pu7a8osTghZ2S7FanqdxCDJUWo21 is WAY more than 19
bighat Verified Member Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 At least the Twins are starting to make Rodriguez throw some pitches.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Cave and Kepler switched fielding positions? Kep’s leg still bothering him?

FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Astudillo is probably the last guy I want up in that situation.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 A mammalian amphibophileand that’s about how I would describe that plate appearance.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Waa waaSad trombone? Yup

jkcarew Verified Member Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 I think that it's become pretty obvious that when pitching every 5th day Berrios can't sustain a high level of performance late into the year. The Twins almost have to shut him down at this point and hope a few weeks rest can get him back on track for the playoffs. Also, in future seasons the team needs to treat him like they have Pineda and give him a couple of breaks during the seasons.Just think what a great reliever he’d be!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Sad trombone? YupHeh, not sure how you put that sound into words, but I guess I did okay since you got it.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Jim Kaat is probably right, better off pitching on 3 days rest than 5. The extra day off didn't help, and a pitcher has better control with less time off.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 If the scores hold up, it will be the first time since Aug. 11 that the Twins have lost on the same day Cleveland has won. August 11 was the series finale the last time the two teams played each other.
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Since the 5th inning last night, majority of the at-bats have just been bad. Time to pick it up, bombasquad!
bighat Verified Member Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Welp, looks like the stars aren't aligned in the Twins' favor tonight. Never fun to watch a soft-tossing lefty dominate this team. Nor is it fun watching guys blow opportunities with men on base every inning.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 What an incredible inning of defense
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Oh, and also.., Gold Glove
FlauerPauer Verified Member Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 That was one heck of a play by Jose!
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 I mean is it going to get to the point in baseball where we have 7 man rotations? What is going on? You can't tell me Walter Johnson wasn't bringing the heat. Those rotations of the past were three or four man rotations and they still played around 150 games a year. Shouldn't, with all these technological advancements, pitchers be getting stronger?https://theaceofspaeder.com/2019/01/24/walter-johnson-probably-threw-88-mph/
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Berrios with the glove! Hope that sparks us...
