Like I have said, give me Rocco 6 days a week. Maybe that seventh day Francona wins on pure old-school-ness, but those other six days I’ll take the new guy, thankyouverymuch :)

The closer is actually one of the few things in baseball that I wouldn't mind going away. I always thought it made no sense to bring a guy in that does not match up well with the lineup simply because it was the ninth inning.

But there's simply no excuse for that strike call on Tortuga.

 

That's just disgraceful.

Eh, the Twins probably don't win this one because they only scratched 2 runs across, but something's got to be done with Berrios. You can't trot this guy into a playoff series the way he's pitched the last 3 weeks.

Berrios had another bad outing, Pensacola lost a heartbreaker, and Cedar Rapids loses their first game in their playoff series. Not the best night for the Twins org

We got shut down by somebody's Ace. It happens. Our "Ace" on the other hand....
 
It's too bad this September schedule wasn't flipped a bit- 1st 2 weeks are all tough teams, last 2 weeks are the bottom-feeders of the Central. If it were the other way around, it would have been perfect to rest Berrios  and Gibby, and maybe even Pineda for a turn, then tune up for potential playoffs. But really can't rest those guys against BoSox, Washington, and Cleveland.  
 
Get 'em tomorrow, boys. We've got 7 more against the Tribe to come, I'd love to stay at least 5 up before we take 'em on again.

think you’re disappointed? i’m the guy who predicted a 162-0 season for the twins.

I remember that prediction. It was right around the All-Star break, right?
