stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Author Posted July 17, 2019 Sorry, tough to post lineups from my phone. Could someone post the lineups? Thanks! BTW, it’s not all gloom and doom. This is a good baseball team. The negativism last night was pretty extreme for a club with a five-game lead. Some perspective is called for.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Delayed start based on how the radar looked a half hour ago. Looks now like the rain is fading away, and Dick just said the anticipated start time is 12:45 Central time.

Just close losses. Once all cylinders are firing within the offense again, this team will be right back at the top!
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 We could really use Jorge to break out of this slump he is in. Since June 12th he is hitting .240/.289/.344
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Doh. My bad. I had started contemplating a game thread intro, and started waiting for line ups, and then i got distracted... One thing lead to another. An old friend came out of town, flat tire, earthquake, fire. It wasn't my fault! Oh wait. Maybe it was...I just like that movie. Anyway, what i miss?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 What's going on? Gameday has top of he firstand it started half an hour ago... "Curse my metal body. I wasn't fast enough!" Delayed start based on how the radar looked a half hour ago. Looks now like the rain is fading away, and Dick just said the anticipated start time is 12:45 Central time.Oh, that's all? Thanks for the note...

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 We could really use Jorge to break out of this slump he is in. Since June 12th he is hitting .240/.289/.344I think pretty much everyone is in a slump since the start of June except Luis Arraez.
jz7233 Provisional Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Vargas is the pitcher that hitters need to see as many pitches as possible from. He gives up walks and he does not have overpowering stuff. Polanco and Cruz only saw 3 pitches from him and handed him 2 outs.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Where have i heard of this Ramos Fellow before? Anyone got their thinking Capps lying around, feel like putting it on and remembering for me?
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Excellent job, Mr. Sano. Last couple games the Twins bats have turned to mush with runners in scoring position.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 I thought we had a lead there, for a second...
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 a whole lot of short-lived leads lately
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 I thought we had a lead there, for a second...cmon mr negative, it was at least for 3 minutes
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 45 pitches already for Vargas. Mets pen has an ERA over 5.
jz7233 Provisional Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Vargas probably can throw 150 pitches with his slow velocity stuff. He throws plenty of meatballs.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Maybe this lead will last longer than one opposing batter.
Darius Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 I think it’s time for Perez to be removed from the rotation. Give Smeltzer or Thorpe a shot until someone can be brought in.
twinsbaby Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 I think it’s time for Perez to be removed from the rotation. Give Smeltzer or Thorpe a shot until someone can be brought in.Perez is incredibly lucky pitcher this year. Move him from the rotation is a good idea.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 This would be a good time for a comebacker.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 Well, if the Mets just get one here, that would be good.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 17, 2019 Author Posted July 17, 2019 Pérez has been pretty good his last 3-4 starts and has had his share of bad luck/bad defense behind him of late. If he’s not continually pitching from behind or walking people, he’s much better than average.
