Remember he did that once

He squared to bunt on the first pitch.

2nd pitch, and there's no guarantee he was going to bunt anyway, he just squared.

He swung away on the first pitch.

After all, he didn't bunt...

my mistake.

He squared to bunt on the second pitch, then.

I’m assuming he had bunt in mind, or, he wouldn’t have squared to bunt.

Okay, uncle.

Marwin can play RF on my team.

I'd like to think he took my comments to heart, earlier this year when he was stinking things up, and dedicated himself to mastering the position. :)

Very disappointed for offense so far, we get ahead in count every AB and can't do damage against Mets pitching.

They are hitting the ball hard, mainly bad luck.

Hard to say for sure. Sometimes, you square up just to test the defense and/or keep them honest later in the PA.

Gonzalez came up through the Astros org. He isn't going to bunt just for funsies.

Fair enough. It did seem odd. I will drop it. :)

This team has been downright frustrating to watch with guys on base. It's almost more exciting to watch when the bases are empty.

Also, we may need to call a 6 inning, 3 run game "The Pineda" from now on. I understand he may not be done pitching tonight, but how many times as he had that exact same line? 4-5 times now?

Schoop brings back the run he cost us in the first!

Not really, he cost Twins 2 unearned runs in the first. He only brought back one.

Interesting...they let the LHer pitch to Sano, but not Schoop.

Tells you a bit about what they think of Sano.

Four times, but interestingly enough he hasn't done it since the end of May (he's been much better since then, pitching 5.2+ with 1 ER four times).

no he cost 1 run. Error with 2 out allowed the 2nd run To score.

The Mets have rolled out pitchers this game with ERAs of 4.87, 5.07, 8.03, and now 7.42.

2 runs to show for it.

We should be teeing off on these scrubs

For all the bagging on Schoop.. he's got a .763 OPS... that's above average for an ML hitter.

Schoop certainly makes a good living of hitting with no one on base indeed. That's how he makes his 7.5 millions dollar this year.

And this is why one shouldn't make off-the-cuff observational comments about splits.

Schoop season OPS: .763

Schoop season men on OPS: .782

(though his RISP OPS is a pretty bad .667, but that's not what you said)

The eyes lie.

Sometimes the ropes find the mitts.  So it goes.
