And this is why one shouldn't make off-the-cuff observational comments about splits.

Schoop season OPS: .763

Schoop season men on OPS: .782

(though his RISP OPS is a pretty bad .667, but that's not what you said)

The eyes lie.

I see, so Schoop is specifically the best when there is a runner just at first... alright, that means Schoop needs to be the #2 hitter, then!

Sometimes the ropes find the mitts.  So it goes.

Yeah, this game is irritating because it's the kind of baseball that doesn't go your way at times.

The Twins are straight-up out-playing the Mets, yet they are losing because Minnesota continues to hit rifle shots directly at New York gloves.

It happens. That's baseball.

eh, the Twins have had a lot of luck of their own this year. It evens out (mostly)

I know how Rogers does it.

I know how Harper does it.

Even know how May does it, to some extent.

But I have no idea how Littell does it.

Thought he was toast in that game in tampa

Can we talk about how good Littell has been since he was last called up? He's pitched 10 scoreless innings with 8 strikeouts. Folks, we may have a keeper.

I, for one, I happy they took Littell over 2 months of Jamie Garcia. Whether Littell [and Epps] for Huascar Ynoa was worth it, well, I couldn't tell you that.

Oh, sure, but the Twins are pretty luck-neutral this year given their metrics.

Whatever, it's baseball. I'm not complaining, it's just not much fun to watch this kind of game.

I was trying to defend Littell after that game - which is one of my few opinions that has aged well this season - and it seems becoming a one-inning reliever, cranking up his fastball to 97 mph, was the key to it. It's always wise to try failed starters in the pen, you never know who the next Glen Perkins or Liam Hendriks will be.

Pinch hitting for Castro—before the season started I thought we would see a lot of it.

But we haven’t needed to, and with two catchers now, I’m not sure it’s desirable.

Yes I’m Ron Gardenhire

I don't disagree and I hated how Gardenhire managed catchers. There's just a really big risk there that doesn't need to be taken.

What I hated about Gardy was his reluctance to lose the DESIGNATED HITTER through injury by starting Mauer at that position. It was just absurd.

After this series, Our lead in division are probably back to 4.0 game.

I think maybe Twins guy hit home run and we do are cheering

Now the Mets have their own incredibly embarrassing gaffe... it's like a show-off at this point!

Can we find a way to win this one, though? Oh crap, here comes Seth Lugo, the first legitimately good pitcher the Mets have thrown at us today.
