Game Thread Twins @ Astros, 7:10pm CDT 4/23/2019

[sloopjont]

Batters routinely ask the umpires when they swing and miss if the ball was a strike; i haven't seen anyone do that in this game.

[wsnydes]

Good block by Garver there.

[wsnydes]

Atta boy!

[Mill1634]

Huge K right there. Get Bregman now, and pray the bullpen can hold on.

[gil4]

Who ever said Garver couldn't frame pitches better than Castro?

With Angel Hernendez behind the plate, Castro would be getting calls on pitches behind the batter's back tonight.

[bighat]

Harper up, eh?

Get Bregman now, and get about 5 more runs so the bullpen has a chance of holding on.

[wsnydes]

Well that was less than ideal.

[bighat]

And there goes the lead.

Weird out there at 2b.

[wabene]

Yeouch! That stings. Gotta get those bats going

Nevermind.

Step 1 was key, and he couldn't get it done,

[Mill1634]

Good throw Eddie.

Lineup has to wake up now, with only one or two more innings before the scary backend of the Houston pen gets in.

[Whammy]

I have never in my life seen a pitcher look so uncomfortable on the mound. And I have a 10yo daughter in kid-pitch softball.

[Danchat]

Since that Rosario HR, Miley has been lights out. Yikes!

[bighat]

Rosario's been busy out there in left field. Astros are running him ragged out there.

[Mill1634]

I don't get running Pineda out there to face 4-5-6 after the inning he just had. Forcing things too much against a lineup this good.

Twins have always had trouble with soft-tossing junk-balling journeyman lefties.

[Jkeady12]

Is it just me or do the Twins managers year in and year out miss the simplest coaching maneuvers. Why would you ever throw a pitch to Bregman when there is 2 outs and 1st base open and the count is 3-0. WALK HIM!Basic baseball.

[FlauerPauer]

Who we got coming up here? Cron, Gonzalez, Schoop?

[Mill1634]

Great play by Harper!!

I like him in the 5th or 6th inning role. He is a solid middle reliever.

[wabene]

There's no whine in Ryne

[bighat]

Time for Marwin to do something. Anything.

Time for Marwin to do something. Anything.

Looking like LoMo 2.0

[PDX Twin]

Gonzalez may not hit for much, but at least he's slow.

[FlauerPauer]

I think what pisses me off most about Marwin is that he doesn't hustle. Dude is hitting less than .190 and starts trotting halfway to second. What a joke.

Hell yeah, Kep!!!!

[wabene]

Ve are taking over

[Mill1634]

KEPPPPPPPP!!!!

This team has NO quit

[operation mindcrime]

YEEEEEEEESSSSSSS!

[FlauerPauer]

Time for Mitch to blast one here!

[Mill1634]

Try something cute on the bases with Buxton here?
