And ... from Minute Maid site, it takes a grand total of "12-20 minutes" to close the f-ing roof.

I'm just the messenger! :)

I'm not there, so I don't care whether it's open or not, but given how infrequently it's open I find it amusing to know that they paid for an operable roof and rarely benefit from it.

I'm putting the over/under at Pineda's IP at 4. Takers?

Over. He looks sharper here than he did in his last outing.

Nice to see the players earning and keeping their places in the line-up or on the field.  The last few years some players could be on a 2 month slump or 2 week and stay in line-up and some would have a good week one bad day and then back to the bench.  Escobar was the exception last year they could not find a reason to bench him once he got going.  Also nice to see run support for the pitchers.

Retractable roofs: I've been to Miller Park in Milwaukee a few times. Every time I've gone to a game it's closed - if there's even a hint of overcast weather, maybe it's a little hot outside, or windy, etc. The only time they open the roof is is literally if it's 75 and clear skies. It's a terrible fan experience when it's closed too, feels like you're inside a tuna can (smell included).

If you look at Houston and Miami, those roofs are rarely open either. Miami in particular seems to open the roof about once per year for opening day.

Though I'm growing weary of Marwin.

Schoop with a nice 2-bagger there. Let's get 'em over, and then get 'em in. Execute.

I wonder how often Seattle opens theirs. The only time I was there, it was open.

I can see why Miami and Houston wouldn't have theirs open often, but that begs the question why they wanted one in the first place.

To open it for the fly over's on Opening Day, July 4th, and Memorial Day.

Under. He might survive one, but they'll definitely pull him if there's a second.

Wait, you meant Injury Panics, right?

Arizona is pretty predictable. Great weather in April, then it’s either too hot or monsoon season until late August or September. . . except it still might be too hot through September. Good thing they have the dome.

Ah, silly me! Perfect use of resources, construction dollars and operating dollars!

Temps are in the mid 70s. 0% chance of rain per weather channel. Why have a retractable roof if you aren’t going to open it on a night like this?

The sky is falling in Houston.  That's why.  Twins gonna roll!!

I lived in Milwaukee for a year. They’d open the roof a decent percentage of the time but god, don’t go to a ballgame during one of those 80 degree high humidity, might drizzle days. The entire place is a sauna and pure misery.

Retractable roof stadiums suck. Even when they’re open, the nature of the design forces walls around the stadium, killing air movement.

And then you get situations like tonight in Houston where there’s no excuse not to have the bloody thing open, yet it’s closed.
