Where are they now? Ex-Twins in 2019

Roster question: As I understand it, if there is a player on the 40 man on the DL, the Twins could petition for someone not on the 40 man as of the Aug 31 deadline to take his spot on the playoff roster. Does that apply to the milb IL? Could O’Rourke replace Hildenberger or Gonsalves for example?

I suspect they'd have to be transferred to the MLB IL to do that, but they would probably want to do that anyway (transfer them to the MLB 60-day DL to open a 40-man spot for O'Rourke).

Can they legally put a guy on the milb dl to mlb dl?

M-o-u-s-e

Yes. The Twins did it with JT Chargois back in September of 2017, from the minors DL to the MLB 60-day DL to open up a 40-man roster spot.

It's a win-win, as the player then gets MLB pay/benefits/ service time.

If they really liked Lynn.... Had they signed him before camp, who knows what happens. Instead, they waited and went cheap.....I liked the signing, as I thought he was a number three innings eater.....

Flash in the pan, a la Derrick Rodriguez.

Good for Anderson, but I don't think it will last.

Rodriguez's rookie performance wasn't very sustainable by the numbers, though -- low K%, low BABIP, low HR rate. He wasn't even a groundball pitcher like Nick Blackburn.

If anything, Anderson has been under-performing his peripherals in MLB this year. He's got a real chance to stick around for awhile.

Well, this FO already DFA'd four guys they started the year with, so he's lasted longer, and been better.....

Brian Dozier should have shaken off Kurt Suzuki's sign and gone with a fast ball to Eduardo Escobar.

How fast is Dozier's fastball?

Logan Morrison also back in the bigs, He is up with the Phillies.

The Phillies are enamored with ex-Twins lately. First they picked up Morin and Blake Parker, and now Morrison. Hardly seems like savvy moves for a team fighting for the playoffs.

If you ever wondered where Ryan LaMarre, Lucas Duda, Pedro Florimon, Huascar Ynoa, and John Ryan Murphy are, they are with Atlanta’s AAA team, the Gwinnett Stripers.

You’re welcome. :)

I'd forgotten all about Florimon. He played well for the Phillies at a variety of positions the past couple of years before getting injured. He had a decent spring training with the Braves but has yet to be called up this year.

Magill closes it out. He, Parker, and Morin have actually all been really good the past few weeks.

That’s the thing about mediocre or kinda bad relievers; they can trick you into belief of competency for a month or even two at a time because of the frequency in which they’re used.

The Twins actually have the promise of a solid bullpen now. It could even be good if one of Alcala or Graterol pans out in a few weeks.

After recording a 5.49 ERA at AAA Durham.

Baseball.

It should be noted his appearance came against the Baltimore Orioles. Or perhaps their Icelandic Summer League team. Hard to tell.

Berrios's appearance yesterday came against the Detroit Tigers. Even harder to tell. :)
