The odds are stacked in the pitchers’ favor. Even the greatest hitters make an out 60% of the time. For his career, Rodney has kept the ball in the park. Meaning you need 2 or 3 baserunners to get even 1 run. The odds of that before making 3 outs aren’t very good. And if you need more than 1 run, the odds are lower still.
