Game Thread Sat. 7/14: Twins vs. Tampa Bay, 1:10 pm CT

[S.]

And there are still people that think we have a chance of making the playoffs because we won some games against the Orioles and Royals.

[h2oface]

Lynn, Odorizzi, and Duke. There can be some shine on these pretty universally much appreciated acquisitions, but it makes me think of this song....

[yarnivek1972]

Austiudillo has no more business pitching than I do.

Molitor has made dumb moves. This might be the dumbest.

[adorduan]

Well, Astudillo is no Chris Gimenez......

[Aggies7]

I wonder how many teams have taken the lead in the home half of the 6th and have needed to use a position player to pitch the 9th? That’s gotta be a first

[S.]

One of the reporters better ask the question of why we went to Astudillo before McGill.

Come on. Tell me the truth, is there ANY position Astudillo CAN'T play?**

[Aggies7]

Astudillo’s era now up to 81

They didn’t NEED to. Magill is still sitting out there.

The MOY CHOSE Austudillo.

[Mike Sixel]

One of the reporters better ask the question of why we went to Astudillo before McGill.

They still haven't asked why Belisle is on the roster, so good luck. They only question players here....

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

Molitor sending Alston out to the mound to talk to Astudillo.

[Aggies7]

15 runs allows in 3 innings, what a joke.

[adorduan]

Some Rays are enjoying padding their stats.....

Too many other questions they need to ask before that

[tvagle]

My guess is Magill starts tomorrow's game

[jokin]

Astudillo is pitching?! Alright, I'm going to watch this.

You must be a big fan of train wrecks...?

[Danchat]

I have no words. All I have is laughter - I actually find this quite hilarious, though.

[Danchat]

My guess is Magill starts tomorrow's game

They could emulate Tampa's bullpen game strategy and have Slegers and Magill basically be co-starters... but I can't see Molitor having that kind of creativity.

[mickeymental]

maybe tampa bay could send all their pitchers up to bat.

[jokin]

My guess is Magill starts tomorrow's game

You win the prize. (Based on today's effort, tomorrow's BP game might be record-setting...)

[S.]

My guess is Magill starts tomorrow's game

You'd think we'd want to avoid a bullpen game the day after this nightmare.

[jokin]

He won't let him catch... But he will pitch...

I repeat-

Come on. Tell me the truth, is there ANY position Astudillo CAN'T play?**

Then that is poor roster management. The Twins have at least three others that easily could (Slegers, Romero, Santana).

[Mike Sixel]

I can't believe he embarrassed him like that.

[jun]

It all started with Belisle's inning. This organization needs to find intelligent people to run the team.

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

Wait why is tomorrow a "bullpen" game for Twins

What happened to their five starters?

[adorduan]

Heck, with Molitor, he might start Astudillo tomorrow, he only threw 35 "pitches"...

[rickybeathard]

I can't believe he embarrassed him like that.

Honestly that's where I stand as well. What did he do to deserve that? Literally created this account to say this. There was no reason to do that to Astudillo.

[Danchat]

Wait, why are they bringing out their closer with a 13 run lead?!

Did they miss the one and see the score was 9-6?

[tvagle]

Has there ever been 12 straight HR to end a game?
