I think there is too much ado about nothing that pitchers can't go more than 100. He's probably done though, I just don't trust our bullpen.

Stew Thornley, one of the official scorers who works Twins games, used to stop by here and answer questions.

 

They are instructed that if the play would require more than ordinary effort, not to score it as an error.

 

Now I could get behind that in this case, if BERRIOS hadn’t made the play on that bunt. It was a really tough play.

 

But once he did, theres no longer ANY kind of “extraordinary effort” involved whatsoever. It’s a routine throw for Mauer to catch. Less than routine.

If that throw came on a regular play from the SS and Mauer drops it, it’s an error. Why not on this throw?

Rosario and Berrios deserve to be there, and you can make the argument for Escobar. I don't think the Twins are going to do so well in the polls, so they'll probably just get one guy in.

I think there'd have to be a LOT of injuries and players declining for a team this bad to get more than one person in - deserved or not.

Listening on the radio, noting Barrios' brilliance and that Bobby Wilson got a hit--an RB/1I; Also,t Big Sexy rolled through seven innings allowing the Twins powerhouse only two runs. Makes me wonder if he's released and somebody picks him up, how Belisle would do.

If he gets in, it'll be well down the line - a veteran's committee-type thing.

It's a pretty good "half" a   story, no catcher has ever done what he's done as a hitter.

HOF looks at your whole career, how many guys have 3 batting title and don't get in, too many Twins fans discount what Mauer did early in his career because injuries have hampered his abilities, I know many fans will dipute this but Mauer will get in the hall of fame....no doubt at all.
