Nice win, now they only need 7 more in a row to get to .500. And 8 in a row to stay above .500. Yup, it isn't going to be easy.

I once thought Escobar's 21 HRs was a fluke. I don't think that anymore.

I know someone will blow this comment up with some silly stat, but given the choice of whom I wanted up with the game on the line in the last year I think I would take Esco over Dozier. He can be an aggravatingly tough out, whereas Dozier if you make you pitches your chances are fairly good.

Escobar's 3 run homer looked like a check swing. It looked so effortless. That's impressive.

I especially like how they got the lead, and then never gave it up

That formula works a high percentage of the time.

Escobar seems to have a bit of a clutch factor to him, but I don't have any stats to back that up at the moment. I do know Dozier's RISP isn't very good.

No blowup from me. I think Esco is over all more valuable to the team. But then of course I’d say that as he’s been one of my favorites since he joined the team.

And badly needed.

Especially by Dozier. Calling a team meeting and losing is right up there with dedicating a game to an injured teammate and losing.

You were very quiet during tonight’s thread.

I was stuck in a YouTube loop featuring music videos from such artists as the cars, Peter Gabriel, tears for fears, crowded house, the talking heads, dinosaur jr, etc. Had the game on the iPad

I still think this team can. Our pitching is solid, just need our bats to stay alive.

To me Escobar is loose and able to go with the pitches, he hits with power and slaps base hits.  Dozier seems very tight.

Unless there's next to no market for Dozier elsewhere next year, Escobar's value per dollar will surpass Dozier's by a huge amount.

Serious question:

How does someone who pays closer attention to stats explain Kepler’s ridiculously low .268 career babip?

Over 1200 PA, no one is that unlucky.

Pull, pull, pull.

Eh, we'll see about that, I still think teams would be more willing to pay Dozier more than Esco. Not by much, but let's remember most of us didn't even think of Eduardo as a starter this season.

Not very good writing on my part. I'm saying that even if you consider Dozier to be a marginally more valuable ball player, his new contract (here or elsewhere) next year will almost certainly make Escobar look like an even more exceptional value to the franchise.

I don't have a picture of chicken, but this is a fun one that is from the past and happy.

I had heard the Indian BP was torch like. Thay are more like an explosives expert who smokes on the job! :). They are not unbeatable at all. :).

Google maps shows a pretty short right field line there.

There were a few dingers tonight. Of course, you expect that at 7,000 feet in elevation. Fuegos won 8-4. And we had a great birthday party, with plenty of little kids pandemonium.

Got home too late to catch the end of the game. But will try to catch some highlights. Must have been a fun one to watch.

Go Twins!!

It's kind of like his shoulders unhinge like snakes that can swallow huge stuff by detaching their upper and lower jaws.

Just read the whole game thread, and I can’t believe this comment, which is by far the post of the day, went unremarked.

Twins are 23-30, which is a long way down. However, they have all the pieces, and they have lost Polanco, Santana, Castro, Mauer, Sano, and Buxton. That’s your starting SS, #1 pitcher, C, 1B, 3B and CF. Meanwhile, Lynn, Odirizzi, Morrison and Rodney have all turned things around and looks like they will be positive contributors. Plus Romero looks awesome.

Get those injured guys back, have a solid month of June, get to the All-Star Break near 500, and then let’s see what we’ve got.
