Danchat Verified Member Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 IIRC that's 10 non-starts at 1b already. sheesh.Joe just might be at the point in his career that he needs this many breaks. I'm not sure how I feel about potentially re-signing Mauer to a deal if he's going to need this many breaks from 1B.

Still, Molitor needs to, at some point, be the one in charge. Maybe his assessment is Joe needs the days, dunno. But the decision is ultimately his and not the players’.

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 I made chicken Dinnah early tonight I see...
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 After looking now, I don't think game starts at 7:50, but rather closer to 9 and they play late into the night.

Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 I was told there would be baseball on TV today, dad...
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 I have serious doubts Molitor would take his “gold glove” first baseman off the field on his own. The placement and context of those quotes seem rather ominous...
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Lets PLAY BALL. Odo needs to go 6+ tonight. Feeling a breakout game from Buxton, but what do I know
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Nice inning by Jake. He needs a few quick ones tonight, though.
FattCrapps Verified Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 How did Joe not make contact to to either of those meatballs?
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Looks like the Twins should be able to knock this guy around
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 I was told there would be baseball on TV today, dad...He’s not gonna make it to the end of the game.
Platoon Verified Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 I don’t either. It’s about Molitor. I’ve never been a fan of him as manager and stuff like this just makes it more clear. If it’s Mauer asking for another day, then Molitor needs to say no. If it’s Molitor doing the saying no, can’t have that as manager. I don't know who is responsible for this decision. But somewhere Molitor has to be involved. If he is making it, he doesn't know what he is doing. If Mauer or Morrison is driving it, then Molitor isn't in control of the team. Which would explain Doziers long tenure at leadoff.

Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 LoMo trying to take Mauers gold glove from him?
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 LoMo trying to take Mauers gold glove from him?Probably more like most first baseman make plays we think are not usually made.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Offense just gonna have a lay back and chill night again I see?
amjgt Verified Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 This Ms pitcher might go 14 inning tonight
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Offense just gonna have a lay back and chill night again I see?Really need Sano and Polanco back.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 He’s not gonna make it to the end of the game.He didn't...
twins1095 Verified Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Buxton's been hitting a decent amount of hard outs this year--at least I remember the first stretch of games at the beginning of the year he was and there was another one there. That can get a little bit lost/forgotten with the numbers. Sample size is still small and a lot of that is amidst injury stuff. Patience.
twins1095 Verified Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Big fan of Odorizzi. Not gonna go deep into games and that's why he's a #3/#4/#5 but he's gonna limit hits, strike guys out (also walk some guys), and go 5-6 innings and allow 2-3 runs...there's a ton of value in that. Really hope the Twins sign this guy long-term should he keep it up and seemingly he should.
jtkoupal Verified Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Ugh why are we making Wade LeBlanc look like Cy Young? The bats almost have to break out against his soft-tossing sooner or later. In all seriousness, though, look for LeBlanc to come out of the game after 5. He still isn't fully stretched out and is at 44 pitches.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Really need Sano and Polanco back. The polanco loss seems to have been bigger than we could have imagined it. The loss of sano hurts from a “presence in the lineup” perspective, but he was doing so little, not sure how much he’d contribute except additional Ks
