Goodness, did you see that change up inside to Bautista? Why doesn't Duffey throw that pitch more often? That was fantastic! If Duffey throws his curve, then that change, nobody's going to hit that thing.

Both as a starter and now as a reliever, it's easy to feel like Duffey is just a tweak away from being a really good pitcher. But somehow he has often ended up moving backwards instead of forward.

I actually think they did. I think if one looks at numbers from games in Seattle vs the Jays, I would bet they are higher than the average for that particular season.

I think they show Jays games around Canada on CSN.

Just stop it with the complaining about the umpiring.  Nothing's gonna change.

Can't win them all. Offense has been kinda dead the last few nights. 

 

Molitor was kinda handcuffed with those close games the past two nights, gambled and lost with Colon.

We are getting spoiled by these walk off wins. This game could have been really ugly, Toronto could have blown it open in the 7th.  Not going to win them all.  Let's go hope Houston finishes off Seattle and Texas can find a way to win tonight.

Might have just seen his way forward. Throw that good change up more often. A third legit pitch would make it that much harder to guess what's coming next. Right now Duffey's best pitch is his curve. Then he's got an okay fastball, but beyond that... what? A good change up would solve that problem. He could throw his two-seamer, then his change, then the batter's guessing what - the curve? Maybe it's another change. Or his modest heat. Duffey has a straight 4-seam, and a 2-seam that bends arm side, which is more effective. 

 

That change up could change a lot of things, if Duffey can throw it where he wants to. Trouble is, that's the first one I've seen him throw. Apparently he was saving it for his old nemesis, Bautista. Kewl.
