jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 I don't understand what people wanted from Pressley? He didn't field a bunt. OK, should have. Pitched extremely well that inning. Extremely well. The Twins are behind because of Molitor, not Pressly.Sorry, I'm a stickler for pitchers fielding their position. That grounder up the middle was easy to field if Pressley doesn't fall off balance towards first base. Plenty of guys throw hard without whirling.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 I wonder if the 1926 G I wonder if the 1926 Giants crack a case of champagne every year like the 1972 Dolphins... If any of them are undead...Did you know that team finished in FOURTH? How do you go 26 unbeaten and finish in 4th?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Through 6 1/2, according to MLB pitch f/x, I only see 4. Bottom 3rd, pitch 1 to Giminez, strike that was called a ball / top 5th, pitch 1 to Hernandez, ball that was called a strike / top 6, pitch 3 to Smoak, ball that was called a strike / top 7, pitch 6 to Smoak, strike that was called BALL FOUR. Pretty damn good guessing. Mighty fine. All extremely close, too. And all went against the Jays, excpt the ball four call to Smoak. But let's face it, the umpire was still guessing.pitch 6 to Smoak was not a strike. I know that for a fact, I'm watching it live. The machine must be guessing.

Players sometimes make physical mistakes. Sucks, but it happens.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Things are getting tense here. Let's all relax and have a look at this delicious Oktoberfest beer I'm enjoying Edit: not sure why it's sideways
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Tyler Duddey. And now a visit to my personal hell. I mean Duffey. One key away. I must have a freudian finger.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Coors Light here...but your Oktoberfest looks and sounds better. Have to watch my girlish figure. Lol
jkcarew Verified Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Are there really that many jays fans in Winnipeg, though? Did all of Canada just adopt the jays from the start?Yes. Television.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Or put another way...want the girls to want to look at my figure. Lol

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Looks like that was the 5th pitch. But again, very close.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Coors Light here...but your Oktoberfest looks and sounds better. Have to watch my girlish figure. LolI'll be regretting it when I finish these 15 gallons
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 I seem to recall Kepler was hitting lefties better when he first came up. He's doing something different now, something not as good. Possibly falling off a bit with his front shoulder. Not sure.Agreed. Too much athleticism, great stroke and quick hands. I think he'll get there.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 So we get Good Pressly AND good Duffey tonight! Come on guys...RALLY TIME!
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Did you know that team finished in FOURTH? How do you go 26 unbeaten and finish in 4th? Yeah, I knew that. You do that by starting the streak 14 games back. The Giants also had a 17 game winning streak earlier in that season. After it, they were only 19-13.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 This is on Molitor. Not Pressly. Players sometimes make physical mistakes. Sucks, but it happens. I'll compromise. It's on Molitor because Molitor didn't have his pitching coach drill Pressley on fielding his position. Hopefully that will be corrected after this game.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 I'll be regretting it when I finish these 15 gallonsI usually pick up various Oktoberfests this time of year, but its just so "summery" right now I haven't been in the mood yet.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 We escaped a Tyler Duffey outing (hopefully it is over after this one inning). Rally Time!!!!!! Meat of the order!

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Not sure why you wouldn't hit for Escobar in a one run game vs a RHP. Both Vargas and Grossman are better than Escobar vs RHP.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 I'm gonna be really ticked off if we lose this game.
Whammy Verified Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 I'm gonna be really ticked off if we lose this game.Yeah. I mean, we all know we can't win every game, but it was just soooooo obvious that Colon was living on the edge and needed to be done after 6 (or maybe 5) that it'll be a pretty frustrating loss if it happens
Darius Verified Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 So who will be the head scratching PH in the 9th? Adrianza? Goodrum?
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 I'm gonna be really ticked off if we lose this game. You mean if THEY lose this game. We have about as much effect on the outcome as the ghost of a fly I swatted ten years ago. He was a stickler for fielding, too... ;-)
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 That's a tough play, nicely executed by Esco.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 If you want to play the Kharma card, shouldn't Kepler hit a walk off homer tonight?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Yeah. I mean, we all know we can't win every game, but it was just soooooo obvious that Colon was living on the edge and needed to be done after 6 (or maybe 5) that it'll be a pretty frustrating loss if it happensThe bullpen might have blown it too, and they pooped their pants offensively with bases loaded, no out, and 2-3-4 due up. but still...the game turned on a really, really poor job of managing. edit: and we haven't lost yet.

glunn Community Moderator Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 It looked to me like Kepler took a less than ideal route to that one.
