That's true, but with a second wild card, that is a bit skewed to compare it to other seasons without it. But it will still be history if it happens.... and over 100 games lost!

Great win and the Yankees are down by 6 with 3 outs left. The Angels are now down by 2.

Stating the obvious - but we are approaching mid-September and the Twins are still relevant. That is just nice to say.

After tonight, if the Mariners beat the Angels (maybe even if not) it'll more likely than not that they make the playoffs (odds over 50% per BR).

The DBacks' 13-game win streak is in jeopardy, down 8-0 to Padres.

 

Check that, they've scored 5 to make it 8-5 in the sixth.

 

In the AL, the Yankees, Orioles, Rays, and Royals all lost. Angels down 4-2 in the 5th.

 

And Sano hitting and taking fielding tomorrow. Good day for the Twins.

Of course, 10 teams make the playoffs now. That is 1/3 of the league. Up until 1995, there were 4 playoff teams, 1/7 of the league until the Rockies and Marlins joined.
