Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Santana, Berrios, Mejia, Slegers, Gibson is looking like a passable rotation to close out the year. Colon isn't going anywhere. He's a lock in that rotation whether we like it or not.
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 The Rays broadcasters are lamenting it also. "That base is stolen, I hate this about instant replay - but it's the game now". That coming from the opponent's booth. That's good to hear, I roll my eyes when it goes the Twins way also. Losing contact with the bag for a fraction of a second should not make a guy out.

I'm expecting quite a few duds from him the rest of the year.

I don't think anyone believes Colon is an ace or anything, but he has a sub-4 ERA with the Twins, and barring injury while be starting games for as long as the Twins continue to play them this year. I like what Slegers has done thus far as well, but he has only thrown 9 innings. It's clearly Slegers or Mejia for the fifth spot at this point, and neither will make starts should we get to a playoff series.
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Welp, so much for that.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Hmmm, that changes Slegers' line. A lot.

Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Rays Announcer: "Vargas fouls that one back, and right in front of...my eyebrows". Why did he choose eyebrows, rather than face, or nose, or eyes?
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 we still penciling slegers into the rotation? Until Mejia is healthy, I'm stone chiseling Slegers in.

GCTF Verified Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 It must he hard to pick up the ball when you're beimg mesmerized by Romo's beard.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Polanco's foot was out of the batter's box. But he pulled it back.
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 I have a feeling Escobar gets a big hit here.
mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Polanco's foot was out of the batter's box. But he pulled it back. He was standing in front of the plate. Looked like he was hit well out of the box as he pulled his foot back. Awful use of replay, the system does not work at all.
