Watching these slighter players club home runs, it still amazes me that someone with all of Mauer's talent and size, and he never made the adjustment to be able to hit home runs.

The other night Roy was mentioning that he is basically the only player in the game to still use an ash bat instead of (harder) maple bats.

 

I'm not saying correlation is causation, but anyone else think Mauer might just maybe want to give the maple bats a try?

How was Dunkirk? I think like 99.8% of movies out there look like total **** and complete waste of my time, but I think I would actually go see Dunkirk. Did it live up to the promise? 

It's basically an hour and a half war movie that is non-stop action and incredibly brutal. Fantastic cinematography and it looks the part - everything looks real, no fakey CGI. It's basically what Pearl Harbor should have been (no stupid plot and unnecessary bloat), but I'm no "war movie fanatic", so that's just my 2 cents. 

 

I've heard it's amazing in IMAX, so if that's an option, I'd try that.

The Twins have placed Mejia on the 10 day DL. I imagine they'll call up a bench bat (Vargas/Garver) for now and eventually get a starter up here. They could go with Gee since he pitched 4 innings today or they could opt for somebody like Slegers to pick up a few starts.
