DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Nope. If it were me, I'd 100% rock the stirrups.Caught a Stormchasers game here in Omaha a couple months ago, and the ENTIRE team was old school. Absolutely loved it! God...im showing my age aren't I? Lol David HK 1
spinowner Provisional Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 The game ball goes to Rosario. adorduan and David HK 2
gil4 Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Twins win! Twins win!I guess my MLB TV was behind a bit. I hope Chief didn't finish off the chicken already. David HK and USAFChief 2
David HK Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Know it doesn't matter an ounce for performance sake...but am I the only one who loves guys like Belisle who wear their pants in traditional manner and show the hose? Here's to more showin' the hose!! I think the whole team needs to do it until they lose again. Maybe we can stretch that hose-showing into a winning streak! (* tell you what, tho, as an old guy, it really bugs me with the long pants that cover the shoes*) DocBauer and gil4 2
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 I'm still believing this is a .500 team, or a couple games above, as I predicted. Or is that the Bud Light Lime talking? Either way, good game, good win! David HK, gil4, SwainZag and 1 other 4

David HK Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 I kind of like the fact that he's clearly not checked out of the game. I pretty often feel like Bert is, although to be fair, he might be less so in the ninth inning with a lead.Heh... I get that same feeling sometimes-- like Bert dozes off, then wakes up and grabs one of his stock quotes out of the big jar on the desk... "...z-z-z-z... Ulp! Good piece of hitting right there! Danchat Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 I don't know how, but they found a way to win both these last two games. I keep expecting them to find a way to lose, but hey, I'll take it! This bullpen has been a strength the last week or so... not sure if it'll continue to be so. gil4 1
gil4 Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Nope. If it were me, I'd 100% rock the stirrups. I was always kind of partial to the John Castino low stirrups with the pant legs fairly high to show more of the socks. (IIRC his theory was he would get fewer called strikes lower in the zone. He was a fun player to watch - it's a shame he hurt his back. DocBauer and David HK 2

gil4 Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 (edited) Castino is one of the top "what might have been" Twins. Thanks for bringing up a good memory!Far too many of those - Oliva was great but..., I know Bostock had already left but ..., Castino, Koskie, Liriano*, Ortiz (for different reasons), Morneau, and now Mauer. Edit - One more to add - Scott Erickson was absolutely dominant for a little more than half of the 1991 season. He had a bad start, tweaked his elbow (not necessarily in that order), missed a start or two, and was never the same. Maybe it was smoke and mirrors, but I think it was more than that. * - Santana had one of the best 4-5 year runs in history, and for 2006(?), in the middle of that run, he was the 2nd-best starter on the team until Liriano hurt his UCL. I used to beg, borrow, and cajole to wear the #2, no matter what sport is was. And I dug those socks then, too! gil4 and Squirrel 2
gil4 Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 No, that's the moonshine.Would adding lime to moonshine make it almost drinkable too? snepp 1

howeda7 Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 I thought back-to-back was Belisle's kryptonite? Glad he made it through. Who closes tomorrow?
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Would adding lime to moonshine make it almost drinkable too? When I was younger....we would order loaded bud light limes. Bud light lime with a shot of vodka poured into the top. Those were the days of bad decisions. gil4 1
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Roy with the audible "UGGGHHH" seeing that hanging curve halfway to home plate. Found on Reddit, worth listening to https://streamable.com/2j9c6
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 I mentioned this the other day but I'll mention it again. The Brewers are the only team against which Ervin Santana, tonight's starter, has never recorded a win.Santana faces 26 batters, strikes out 6, and give up two earned runs. Boshers faces one batter, gets a grounder. Boshers definitely deserved that win over Santana. h2oface 1
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 I'm feeling a streak coming on...it might be winning...it might be losing...it might be me running around the house naked...but there will be a streak! gocgo 1
