gil4 Verified Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 if he hits 30 home runs in August, maybe we can get more than 1 injured pitching prospect for him in the offseason. Or at the very least we can get a 100 page thread where we discuss the same things repeatedly for a few months. It was January-February and we certainly didn't want to talk about the Vikings. Maybe this winter will be different. Sorry, my irrational optimism is reserved for baseball season.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Polanco (and Buxton last inning) takes a 2-0 fastball. Predictable pitch, and both right down the middle. That, IMO, is almost always a bad mistake by a hitter. Punish that pitch.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Quality start for Colon, eh?Unless he gives up another run.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 By the way, we have plenty of dates open in August for anyone wanting to start a game thread. Newbies or Oldies all welcome to throw their hat in the ring. Just check out the volunteer thread (link posted below) for available dates and send a PM to Chief and me. We eagerly await hearing from you! http://twinsdaily.com/topic/25228-2017-game-thread-volunteers-needed1/
gil4 Verified Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Big story here on the local new today. A convicted killer also confessed to once being hired to murder a cow in a rice field using only small porcelain figurines. Police are convinced it's the first known case of a knick knack paddy whack.Along the same lines (and just as bad): https://www.reddit.com/r/Jokes/comments/2ihn17/a_frog_goes_into_a_bank_to_get_a_loan/ Link only, because I can't bring myself to post it on the site, even if it is a game thread.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Damn, same spot on Sano's hand as a week ago. Pain.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Fun fact: In my spare time, I like to race snails. I know, I know...snails, right?? But it's actually kind of fun, and believe it or not there's money in it. My favorite snail has been in a slump though, so I thought maybe he'd be a bit faster if I removed his shell. But all it did was make him sluggish.
S. Verified Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 His initial reaction looked bad, but he didn't look too phased going back to the dugout. Let us hope that they just pulled him to be safe and because we have a decent lead. If Sano goes down with an injury, our offense is in trouble.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Rangers really need a team barber ...
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 And speaking of sluggish, how 'bout this game thread?? thanks, thanks everyone. I'll be here all week. Try the chicken.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 The perfect strike pitch, and the Rangers get screwed.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 That's twice tonight Mauer should have been rung up and it ended up costing the Rangers
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 It's karma for the horrible umpiring the Twins have seen lately.
mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 So Sano just got knocked out of the game and now the Rangers challenge a clearly correct call where Doizer was spiked? I assume the Rangers are aware of the scouting report on Molitor never defending his players and feel completly safe making that garbage challenge. If Gallo gets one in the ribs it's his managers fault. If Gallo doesn't get one in the ribs it's our managers fault.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Even though Dozier didn't really seem to be giving it his all as far as speed, at least he slid feet first!
gil4 Verified Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Damn, same spot on Sano's hand as a week ago. Pain.I'm not big on unwritten rules, but I wouldn't let Rangers hitters get too comfortable in the box next inning, either. If you know what I mean.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 So, if Big Sexy comes out for the 7th... what's the leash? Two hits and a walk? One run?
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 another bases loaded with one out.... and only one run. at least they got one, i guess. tired, though.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Cowards throw at batters on purpose. Fans and ball players need to grow up.

gil4 Verified Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 That's twice tonight Mauer should have been rung up and it ended up costing the Rangers I didn't think the pitch quite got to the corner. It looked maybe a bit low and maybe a bit outside. Usually two maybe's = ball.
mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 another bases loaded with one out.... and only one run. at least they got one, i guess. tired, though. Don't they have 8 runs today? Sometimes you get zero or one in that situation sometimes you get 6 or 7.

If Gallo gets one in the ribs it's his managers fault. If Gallo doesn't get one in the ribs it's our managers fault. There was nothing intentional in Sano getting hit or Dozier getting stepped on a bit. Gallo had a great throw and the catcher made a great attempt at getting Dozier out. Intentionally plunking Gallo is just going to result in Sano getting plunked again tomorrow, but intentionally this time around.
gil4 Verified Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 So, if Big Sexy comes out for the 7th... what's the leash? Two hits and a walk? One run? So, if Big Sexy comes out for the 7th 8th ... what's the leash? The 7th sure looked easy.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Free-swinging team meets cagey veteran with a variety of slow stuff. I've seen this movie many times. I'd still rather see Slegers debut. Or Gonsalves, or Romero, or Hurlbut...
spinowner Provisional Member Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 X-rays negative, please.Thank you.
