S. Verified Member Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Good lord, what is going on here? Rosario drops a ball, Mejia can't put out Gomez after an 0-2 count and now Mauer drops a ball. 70charger and Jerr 2
spinowner Provisional Member Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Nice job, Joe.Nobody's perfect.
70charger Verified Member Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 And Mauer's first error in a year. Not a fun inning.

Darius Verified Member Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 After this inning, I want to hear no more about the players being offended by trading guys away. What an embarrassing inning defensively. Hosken Bombo Disco, curt1965, wsnydes and 3 others 6
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Instead of talking to Mejia, maybe you should talk to your so-called defense that has given up on the season. Riverbrian and Jerr 2

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Mejia can't be giving up a homer to a lefty on a 1-2 count. 3 run dinger with 2 outs. ouch. USAFChief, Jerr and curt1965 3

amjgt Verified Member Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Dozier late covering 1B... I was all ready to rip him on this, but on the replay you could see he had no chance from his shifted position toward 2nd base. wsnydes 1
jimmer Verified Member Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Yup, Joe finally makes his 1st error in over a year. Ball goes in and out of his glove, like the double hit by the Texas player that went in and out of Rosarios glove. Jerr 1
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 I was all ready to rip him on this, but on the replay you could see he had no chance from his shifted position toward 2nd base.Fair enough. Someone has to cover 1B on that play though. Mauer and Mejia both went for the ball. Somebody messed up. Jerr 1
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 And then Gibson on Saturday! With Gee coming up. I think a lot of fans will be checking out the rest of the year with this product being fielded...... curt1965 1

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 I love Smalley. Just throw it low and away and he'll chase. Does he not think Mejia is trying to do that? If Mejia had that kind of command he wouldn't have the numbers he has. Hosken Bombo Disco 1

jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Long inning. Rangers pitcher will be a little cold. Jump him, Giuseppi! Go for the face!

I don't know what play was called but either Mauer should have stayed home or Dozier shouldn't have been shifted because he has to cover. I'm thinking it's on Dozier because he was headed toward first like... oops I should have been over there. To my knowledge... there is no bunt coverage that leaves first uncovered. wsnydes 1

If Mejia had that kind of command he wouldn't have the numbers he has.Yeah, but Smalley mostly has been critical of pitch selection, like throwing that third curve in a row after 0 - 2. Smalley commented that the count called for something different, like a fastball up and in. Maybe then go for the curve, but not three in a row.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Sort of a sad day here in Tucson. We have something called the "Tanque Verde Swap Meet" that is open every weekend, a sort of giant ongoing yard sale. There's even been a small circus there for years, made up mostly of part time, semi-amateur locals. They've had to shut down one of the main acts, the "human cannonball." The guy who got shot out of the cannon had reached the age where he just wasn't able to do it anymore, and they can't find a replacement. ... ... Seems it's hard to find a man of that caliber. jimbo92107, gil4, snepp and 3 others 6
