Twinsoholic Verified Member Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Re: The Sano Blast. Hope that Dozier and Kepler both get hits just before that Earl Weaver homer. Where do you all think Mauer should be hitting in the batting order? I certainly don't think the 4 spot is optimal, but I hope to be proved wrong tonight.

Dantes929 Verified Member Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Just watched the Dozier inside-the-parker and he did it in 15.41!!!! Tenth fastest since Stat-tracker!!!! Buxton has 1st place!Surprises me because it looked like he really slowed down while rounding 1st base. I was yelling for him to stop at 3rd since a good throw would have gotten him and there were no outs but fun to watch anyway.
Dantes929 Verified Member Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 As lousy as Buxton has been I still am just slightly less interested without him in the lineup. He can't break out while not playing.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Appreciate bats Not those bats, insectivoresHaiku Writing DayThere exist social circles in which bat is an acronym. I know t stands for tuba. I am pretty sure b stands for big, as bats are usually 6/4 tubas. I am still not entirely sure what the a stands for. Anyway you can tell these kinds of bats by their phat sound in the low register. I must confess i appreciate all three bats myself. Even if i am too lazy to haiku it.
Blake Verified Member Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Fences are a royal pain. We took ours out in MN, and never put it back. That said, I know some people like them. Even taking ours out was a royal pain. edit: sigh. I just realized I used "royal pain" twice in that short rant. sigh.No rest for the politically incorrect. I was just putting the finishing touches on the fence and mom called. Leak under her bathroom sink. Fortunately, I had stocked parts in advance in anticipation of this problem. Still sucked, though. I see nothing wrong with using royal pain twice in a rant. If' it's worth ranting about, it's worth being emphatic to the point of redundancy. However, were it a game thread, you'd be mercilessly mocked.

bighat Verified Member Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Why is Mauer batting cleanup again? There's nobody else. I think Polanco's our best bet, but that just shows how much trouble the Twins are in, power-wise. Maybe Grossman? I dunno.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 As lousy as Buxton has been I still am just slightly less interested without him in the lineup. He can't break out while not playing. I agree but throwing the guy out there night after night isn't a good solution either. Giving him the occasional day off to take practice and clear his head is probably the right decision.

I ask, because it seems to me it's time to bring in another bat.

I'd DFA DanSan actuallyCould also bring up Park when he gets healthy... we need some power

Vargas is also doing well in SSS and he's the next guy in line. Just call him up already.

Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Someone stole Chief's book of jokes. That's a shame as I think Chief was given that booklet by Extraterrestrials when they were overseeing and directing the Ancient Egyptian's building of the Giza Pyramid Complex. What a loss.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 I'm just a Palka believer... Vargas is probably the better optionI find Palka interesting - and I'd like to see him get a shot this season because I have little faith in either Vargas or Park - but he didn't light the world on fire last season in Rochester and we're barely getting going this season so may as well find out what you have in the guys in front of him before giving Daniel a shot.
BoofBonser Verified Member Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 Only 1/3 of this outfield trio is excelling like we hoped... Buxton and Rosario = Abysmal at the plate so far The fact that we have a winning record despite the lack of production from who we thought would handle a lot of production is encouraging, yet disappointingWe're only a couple weeks in, but I'm starting to wonder whether it's a fluke or not *100th post!
