akmanak Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 We are hitting the ball well, now to get the runners in.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Calling a Dozier home run here.
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Calling a Dozier home run here.Had you called a 'Buxton home run,' i might have given it to you.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 I'm calling Buxton taking the first pitch in his next at bat.
AZTwin Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 I'm calling that Miguel swings the bat at some point the next time he's up
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 I'm calling my mom later today.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 14 pitches for that walk...
mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 If Buxton batted third the infield would have been playing for the double play his sharp grounder would get to the outfield and the Twins would have had a big first inning, instead the games over in the second inning. Fire Paul Molitor.
BoofBonser Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Mistakes like that cost you the game
Foghorn Leghorn Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Sad watching Sano try and field.
Darius Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 You never run the guy to the advancing base. Always make sure you're taking him to opposite way if you're going to make a run at it like that. Any well coached 11 year old can tell you that. Awful, awful play.
BoofBonser Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Sad watching Sano try and field.Just a dumb play... you learn that when you're 8 years old
Foghorn Leghorn Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Just a dumb play... you learn that when you're 8 years oldYep.. when do we make the permanent switch to first?
hybridbear Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Today's disaster looks like the Twins I expected this season. Sano holding that ball instead of throwing Garcia out at home is unacceptable. Yesterday he didn't run & now today he makes this boneheaded play, it's time for him to be benched until he learns to play with some energy.
bighat Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Crappy play, Sano. Just throw the ball to Castro and take the out. Frazier's as slow as a dump truck out there, too. Poor Mejia, rough inning, bad luck.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Mejia's start not going well as hoped.. goodness, he cannot get strike 3 for anything.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Yep.. when do we make the permanent switch to first?2019
spinowner Provisional Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Nice catch, Mauer!Tuned in just in time to see that. I don't get how players can bend their necks back and judge a ball like that. I've been told it's sort of like learning to judge where other cars are by looking in the rear view mirror but it's gotta be a difficult skill to learn.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Aw, they are just making it exciting. Like Achilles giving the Tortoise a head start in a foot race.
hybridbear Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 So much for Mejía. Another example of why ST numbers don't matter.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Justin Haley... Guessing Molitor has officially given up on 162-0.
Darius Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Really fluky outing for Mejia. That 90 pitch Frazier AB, and the awful play by Sano killed him. The kid's stuff looks great. He could easily be the Twins best starter this year.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Well, hmmm, I chose a fine game to go to. But ... and this is very important ... it ain't over til it's over. AND ... it's just a game.
gocgo Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 I was taught that the number one rule of a rundown is that if you don't get the out, don't let the runner advance.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Sano did that rundown so badly, I can hardly tell you. Daddy taught me in 4th grade how to do rundowns. Ball high, wrist back, run hard, stick your fingers at the receiver's eyes. One throw only, or you're doing it wrong. Both fielders close the trap.
akmanak Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Yikes do you guys shift your stance on the Twins when we fall behind.
