Send Berrios Down!

It would entertaining to know the fraction of players we were told (by anyone) would be "fine" who turn out to be anything but.  That word gives me the shakes.

Compelling argument... Send him back down!

Compelling argument... Send him back down!

Not an argument.  Just a word association causing a physical reaction, whether it makes sense or not.

Imagine. Milone went down to Rochester and gave up virtually no runs in 3-4 starts; totally dominant. Berrios has also pretty much handled AAA. The jump to the major leagues appears to be huge. The notion that minor league performance tracks pretty clearly to major league success must only apply to hitters.

Starts like this one will not get him to an innings limit in his next 10 starts. Putting him in the bullpen a bad idea.  Somebody might think he had a future as a closer.

It's cringe-worthy at this point with the way this team works out starting pitching.  If the point of the OP was to mock people who had the gut reaction to "send him down!" after that start, I gotta say......"he will be fine" after that is probably more ignorant.

If by "fine" you mean someday he could be Kyle Gibson then you're setting a low bar.  What exactly does "he will be fine" mean.  Is it like the old Alfred E. Newman line.."What me?  Worry?"

If Albers stays in the rotation and Berrios goes to Rochester, we're all bound by integrity to just give up, disband, and join new message boards right?

hehehe... I cannot imagine trying to moderate the (legit) storm that would follow... :)

I wouldn't call it Berrios being fine. He needs to face major league pitching though, and I'm fine with him doing that the rest of this season.

Are you one of Pavlov's dogs?

I'm glad you see the snark in each aspect, if I posted more, you'd probably have inferred that.

He will be fine, though. He is a young player getting his first big league experience. This is why many wanted him up get a taste lat season. The learning curve is steep, and it not every player steps in and adjusts right away. Again, he will be fine, once he settles down and gets comfortable. It would be nice if the twins jumped out to a big lead for him one if these days.

I have enough trouble imagining trying to moderate this present thread.

No worries, this thread will be fine.

Don't be surprised to find the thread relegated to the Minor League forum soon. Even if Berrios himself remains with the big club. :)
