Who is the most electrifying pitcher?

It seems like most of the good ones are in the NL. Kershaw, Syndergaard, Fernandez, Arrieta, Bumgarner... and than in the AL you have Sale and Salazar and that is about it.

Kershaw, and it's not even close. He's the equivalent of having 2 ace pitchers on a pitching staff.

You really have to go with Kershaw and his god like numbers.  One thing I always wonder though is how big a difference pitching in the NL and a pitcher friendly ball park makes. It's really an ideal situation for a a pitcher. Even Nolasco looked ok for the Dodgers.

You can throw in Strasburg as an electrifying pitcher in the NL. When he is healthy he is probably the second best pitcher in baseball.

For me, Kershaw is the best overall pitcher in baseball.  But damned if I wouldn't buy a ticket just to see if Scherzer can pull another 20ish strikeout feat of dominance.

 

Has anyone had as many high points as him the last 3 years?  Kershaw is the more consistently lights out, whereas when Scherzer is on he's a threat to the history books every time.

 

I also like Sale, mostly because he looks like some kind of circus freak and pitches equally as freaky.

Okay, I'll admit. I may have been spoiled. I was at the near perfect game in person last year on my honeymoon that Scherzer threw, where he lost the perfecto with two outs in the 9th and still ended up with a no-no. So, because I've seen it in person, perhaps it's less impressive to me on TV to watch.

 

Kershaw, though, I have seen him live. I have seen him on TV. I'd watch him over and over again. The man is simply amazing. There's simply a huge difference between he and the next tier of guys, but I do agree that Scherzer should be in consideration as the top of the next tier.

With Kimbrel, it's just that lean. There are certain pitchers that have a signature pre-pitch look or lean that makes them seem even more intimidating. I grew up in the 80s, so the guy I remember most doing it was Dave Stewart, but the guy who was the most fear-inducing in my lifetime staring with fierce eyes over the top of his glove to get the signs was Randy Johnson.
