Serious question here.  They have to have one all star rep.  Who would it be? 

I was thinking of that myself.  Who's going to be this year's Gary Ward, or Ron Coomer?  Our Tim Laudner, or Dave Engle?  Gee, I'd settle for someone being our Matt Lawton...  Come on, step up, somebody.   (I'm thinking it'll be Park)

If they fire Molitor, and I think they should, the should give the keys to either Glynn or Gardy on an interim basis and do a full manager search at the end of the year.  Don't let Dougie get stuck with the interim label.  Let him keep doing his thing at AA and apply for the job after the season.  At the end of the year if Ryan leaves, as Reusse has hinted at, the new GM should feel free to do a complete search for the manager.  I would assume that the Twins manager job would be a good one for a lot of managerial candidates.

I'd be willing to bet even money that we finish worse than Atlanta.

And I think we finish at least 5 games worse than them too.

We may have more talent, but they apparently have some level of play that's unacceptable, as evident by firing their manager.

I don't believe that exists here.

I'm not sure I've even heard Mollie or Terry call out a veteran by name.

dont position players need to be voted in? Or are there position players that get chosen by the manager like pitchers? If it's a voting process I don't think a position player will get in...

Only the starting position players get voted in. The bench is chosen by the manager.

I remember ushering in 1961 when we were just so happy to have Major league baseball, then we watched the Twins rise to the world series and it was glorious.  We watched the Twins stumble and rise again and again.  There were some really bad teams in between the really good.  But there were none that were as pathetic, as embarrassing and as lack-luster as this year.  If Pohlad cannot see that it is time to clean the entire leadership out and rebuild with some different baseball minds we have no hope for anything now or in the future.  This is atrocious.

The voted in players select members of the all star game as well. In fact, as far as selecting members, the players select more than the fans or the managers.

To be fair, Park is on pace for 35+ HR and has a .886 OPS, that is all star worthy any year IMO.

That said, I am in the Doug M camp when it comes to the manager job. But right now, I say float the idea to Torii about becoming interim manager. Loosen things up, and simultaneously teach kids about on the field accountability.

LOL!  Just read a column about Dick and Bert being ranked low due to their unbridled homerism.  I dunno if I could do their job.  It's like being asked to polish a turd.  How do you spice up the bland play that we witnessed today?  This is a team that is content to lose.
