They have an OPS around .400 with RISP and an OPS around .800 with the bases empty.

 

That's bad luck.

 

Yeah, this team has problems, I'm not disputing that... But they should probably be 2-3 right now with normalized luck.

Maybe the 'normalized luck' is just them swinging in the opposite luck direction as last year. Last year everyone defended their success as just getting it done, and luck wasn't part of it. So, on the same token for losing then?

 

I agree with you though, think this team is better than this, but honestly just didn't think it was that great of team to begin with.

Yeah, they likely are a 70-75 win team unfortunately once you take "good luck" out of the equation, now if they can cut bait/playingtime etc with Nolasco, Fien, Santana, Suzuki, Milone and give said playing time to Berrios, Kepler, Murphy, Duffey, May (rotation) and any number of minor league bullpen arms, perhaps then can end up being a 77-82 win team (86 win team if they get luck on their side again)

Would rather Kepler play every day in Rochester.

 

Should add if Rosario doesn't start hitting he might see regular playing time with the Twins.

It's early, but the results so far are pretty concerning.

 

-This club is going to strike out a TON. It's going to really limit the runs we'll be able to put up.

 

- our major holes from last year, catcher and the bullpen, look just as bad or worse than last year. Molitor needs to get Murphy more at bats and let guys like Pressly pitch in higher leverage situations instead of Jepsen and Fien.

 

-Buxton needs some time in AAA to figure out his approach at the plate, he looks so lost right now

 

I hope I'm wrong, but it's hard to envision a turnaround like last year.
