I predict Harold Reynolds will say about 1 million stupid things as he announces the games.

So you don't think it goes six games then, I guess.

2 million games?

Very close series. I'll pick the Royals to win in seven. More consistent in the regular season this year. Mets have a lot of streaky players.

Harold Reynolds has twice called Familia's sinker a split finger. After Familia spent a large part of his media day time explaining that the pitch is a two-seam fastball, you'd think Fox and Reynolds would get that right.

Game one to the Royals 5-4 in 14 innings. 13 pitchers used, time of game 5:02.

Fun with numbers: game two of the 1916 WS also went 14 innings. Final 2-1 Boston. Totàl pitchers used: 2, time of game 2:32.

Winning pitcher: Babe Ruth, who is actually the same age as tonight's loser, Bartolo Colon.

//and no, I was not in attendance. I watched on TV.

You're getting senile. You mean you listened to the radio.

The final play last night ... the play was closer than I thought it would be. No question he was safe, I just didn't think the throw would even get there. Do any of our outfielders get the runner there?

Date/timestamp noted. You are made of stronger stuff than I am. Either that or you live three time zones west of me. Or both.

I coulda paid closer attention. I actually was driving through the wee hours of the morning, and gave up trying to find new radio stations as the distant ones i found were consumed by static or competing signals...

Yeah, seems i missed a good one...

Think i'm gonna try paying attention tonight, but i'm having a hard time without 5 things to think about...

I'm not sure if ARod is actually good with analysis....

....or if the rest of Fox baseball is so incredibly bad that it makes him sound better.

Reynolds makes anyone sound good by comparison..

Yes, I keep disgusting myself by thinking A-Rod's not too bad at this and surely will be talking to me through my TV for another couple decades now.

Before he went to NY and became the push pin of anyone and everyone out there, ARod was considered well-spoken and a student of the game. Perhaps TV would be the way to bring back that image of him to the general public.

I wouldn't trade Sano for anything and I like Rosario, Dozier and Vargas, but watching the Royals makes me think the Twins have to find a way to start avoiding hitters who can't make make enough contact to keep moving the runners along.

So, we had two predictions for the Mets to take it in 5 games.

And one is the owner of Twins Daily!

I dunno, maybe we need to keep a closer eye on Mr. Stohs?

Anyway, the Mets bullpen is now officially hurt. Cueto came through and gave the Royals bullpen a breather.

OK sports fans, thought exercise:

Lets say the Twins are in the series instead o the Royals, and have just won games one and two at home (I know, I know...far fetched, but work with me here).

You have tickets to games six and seven.

Do you want the Twins to end it in New York, and fly home for the parade?

Or do you want the series to come back home, so you can attend, with, of course, the chance they end up losing the series?

Trick question. Game 2 would have been rained out here tonight. :)
