James Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Detroit gives up their DH, huh? I approve.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I know it's the right play to bunt the runner to third base with no one out however in this era of weak contact and strikeouts I don't even like that play. It's hard to score a runner from third without a hit anymore.Yeah, but with Buxton's weak hitting, it's a reasonable call.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Fly ball would have won it, and if not, Esco hit wins it.

It's hard to score a runner from third without a hit anymore.I'd argue it was the exact wrong play in the situation with Suzuki and no real PH option available due up next. If the next batter is a guy like Mauer, Hicks, Rosario or Sano? By all means bunt him over to third and take your chances on a SF or a hit.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Blaine "Spitball" Boyer. How'd he get a nickname like that?
rghrbek Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Nothing to lose? Squeeze plays are not automatic. You had the winning run on third with one out. There's a reason squeeze plays are rare.you have two outs to work with and a not so good hitter..your chances are better with the squeeze, then letting suzuki flail. disagree. Other people batting than yes... not kurt

You're just reminding us how great it is to regularly post on a board where a Descartes reference thing is ...awesome?Isn't it? rghrbek Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Or it turns into a double play... Yeah lots of those plays turn in to double plays...thats sports center highlight stuff if they do
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 We could still squeek this one out.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 It's OK Dick...we were all flabbergasted Boyer got out of the 10th too.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Redemption time for Hicks?
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Buxton sacrificing bunting is always a strong chance to be a hit.

DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Anybody know whatever happened to JR Graham? Did he quit baseball and become a small town doctor?Injured, this late in the season with call ups etc there is no real point to putting a guy on the DL.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Who's going to make a CALL?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Anybody know whatever happened to JR Graham? Did he quit baseball and become a small town doctor?I guess I'm the only one that "got" it.

twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Great job by Hicks there.
rghrbek Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I gotta say, I am not a fan of how the twins have treated Hicks. Everyone love Rosario, and they should, he's got high end talent. But I think Hicks, after 3 years of experiments has figured it out. rosario has a way to go. I know we love his arm and triples, but they are not the same players right now...hicks has a much larger upside at least right now...it all could change as kids are kids
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Ease his pain...Exquisitely played, sir.
