1 more base runner and it is a save situation.

Probably should have optioned O'Rourke a couple weeks ago for a player we would actually use.

this is what I've been thinking. Is it too late to do a Berrios-O'Rourke swap before September 1?

So that homer by Sano had some retroactive drama on it.

In honor of the approaching NFL season, I suggest that the Twins bullpen be penalized 15 yards for excessive drama.

Even so, it was a great win against a terrific opponent.    Provided they're not playing the Twins, it will be hard for me not to root for them at least a little after watching them this weekend.

That might have been the flattest home run I've seen by a Twin since Shane Mack hit one in old Tigers Stadium during his stellar 1992 season that leveled off at a cruising altitude of about 20 feet.

I saw Reggie Jackson hit a double at Met Stadium that hit the center field fence on the fly. I swear the ball was never more than 20' off the ground. I don't think I've ever seen a ball hit harder.

twins are 3-1 versus sale this season with 20 runs in 23.2 innings ...

How does that happen? ERA of about 2.35 against everyone else and about 7.60 against us.

How cool is it to have a TD game thread for the last game of August be about a Twins game with postseason stakes for BOTH teams?

While there was a little speculation about September callups (which is fine, btw),  it was a far cry from the past four seasons, when it would have been pretty much the only hot topic in a late August game thread.

I remember a Cuddy homer in KC, I think it was '06. It looked like a 2 iron, the shortstop leaped for the ball but it didn't sink at all and carried over the fence. the Twins came from way behind to win the game.
