Things to think about:

1. Back for one more try? Are the Twins going to really try to make the playoffs still. Wait, let me rephrase that: we know the Twins players are trying, but will Terry Ryan-Paul Molitor make the right kind of roster decisions to have the 25 best players on team before September 1? Shane Robinson gets yet another start today, somehow. Somehow this guy remains on this roster.

2. Who Are You? I actually like The Who, but I really dislike that stupid song. I always liked Ervin Santana, but I really dislike the cheating. I am over it, but I now want to know who is this pitcher on any given day? Sometimes he looks actually dominant. Other times it blows up really badly. I actually don't mind that kind of thing in a pitcher for the playoffs because one dominant performance can make or break a series. Too bad Ervin cannot touch the playoffs this year even if the Twins do. Makes you wonder about Jose Berrios and Trevor May starting, though.

3. Chi Chi. I don't like picking on names, but I can only think about the golfer Chi-Chi Rodriguez when I see this pitcher's name. I even started to type an R instead of a G. Rodriguez was the funniest golf personality. And I hate golf.

4. Youth. The Twins are getting production from young guys again, and that is fantastic to watch. In order of desirabilty of baseball viewing: 1. Young guys producing. 2. Old guys producing. 3. Young guys being terrible. 4. Old guys being terrible. There has been a lot of 3 and 4 in recent years, so it is good to get back to number 1. And it's just getting started. Hicks, Rosario, and Sano are all going to make it in MLB. Think about it: there are three young guys (two of them rookies) for the Twins who are going to succeed in MLB. When was the last time we were sure about that?

5. Player of the game. I will play it safe and go with Miguel Sano. He will bring the pain again with extra base hits and rbi today. Sano is going to be a megastar in this league. Honorable mention to Eddie Rosario, who gets yet another triple today.

6. Prediction--Twins 7-5 winners. The bats stay hot and Santana is just fine. Bullpen tries to blow it, though. I bet Ryan O'Rourke strikes out a lefty in a big spot today. Perkins doesn't blow it and doesn't say anything about framing pitches today or for the rest of the season.

Robinson needs to drop a toaster on his foot and come up with a sprained big toe, or lift a suitcase wrong and mysteriously "sprain" his wrist. The best thing he could do for this roster instead of play right now is to go on the disabled list so that management can add a bench player that can actually help the roster win.

How about closing the microwave door on Blaine Boyer's fingers in the clubhouse kitchen?

In all honesty, the only reason why Shane Robinson is out there is because Hunter needs a break after a night game. The problem is, the only guy to replace him is a 4th outfielder who can't hit!

They need to find somebody who can be a 4th OF and actually hit for something. Arcia could do the job. I'd even consider claiming Rockies OF Drew Stubbs, who just got DFA'd. However, knowing TR and the Twins... they aren't going to do anything about it.

Slight lineup change.

Delino DeSheilds is 46 years old, which means he could probably play RF but definitely not CF.

I hope TR isn't reading this thread.  He might try to sign him to a contract.

Uh, Dick, Joe Mauer is not left-handed.

I'm right handed only because the nuns at school switched me. I hit, golf, and shoot left in hockey.

Tom Hallion just got clocked behind home plate when Chris Hermman totally whiffed on a fast ball.  Look for Hermman to strike out on pitches that bounce for the rest of the game...

OK, GameDay has me confused. The leadoff hitter in the second singled and advanced to second on a wild pitch, but then didn't advance on a grounder to second? It also says that Plouffe is playing first base. Wait a minute, now they Mauer at DH and Plouffe at first, with Sano at third. So now that makes sense.

It also listed an injury delay. Somebody get dinged?

Yeah that was the umpire Hallion that I mentioned a couple posts back.  A fastball up caught him flush on the facemask, with Hermman completely missing the pitch.  Moreland went to second on the WP.  Then he stood there on a ground ball took second, taking everyone by surprise with that stealth move.

Really? Ugh, that was such a bad practice, I can't believe it's still a part of our recent history.

I have 2 lefty kids, and writing is a nightmare. I guess that's why they did it. I always have been as good with my left hand as my right.

I find it kind of weird that I use a knife with my right hand. I could have easily gone left with that too
