I was agreeing with what Craig said.

Which was in response to something facetious I said. :) Of course confirmation bias is real. And all fallacies are easier to see in others.

Which is why it's so good to be able to laugh at oneself. Everybody else is so we might just as well join in.

I'm always on the lookout for it in myself, so of course I find it without much effort.

I don't suffer from it, so I never find it.

But if you don't have confirmation bias, and don't find it, doesn't that conf-... oh.

This is my end game on this thread. Charle Bukowski, is the voice I need in these dire times.

I welcome hell, and I give it a handshake, it's certainly a lot better than heaven.

Bukowski was certainly an interesting chap. Some of my friends with a more nihilistic bent swear by him.

I still look to the stars. Got no use for heaven; got no use for hell. Uncertain about Homo sapiens. We still may be just another evolutionary dead end.

Trump admitted today that humans have caused global warming, and disavowed the alt right. Looks like Romney will be sec of state as well.

Baby steps, baby steps.

It's all Gina's fault.

Seriously though, it's amazing how many people have no clue about global warming, and how much we still contribute to it. Take away ObamaCare, but leave the clean power plan. This rhetoric about global warming being false has to stop. I really believe the leaders rallying against it know Damn well what they're doing.

They know, they simply only care about the here and now.

I wish they'd come out and say that too, it doesn't sound very altruistic but admitting that they put less value in tomorrow's humans than today's humans (actually corporations if they are being super honest) is a lot better look than feigned naiveté in my opinion.

Just read a report Clinton is being urged to challenge election results. Apparently she did much worse in places that used electronic voting methods.....

I don't think some of these folks would know honest communication if it bit them in the bum.

I read that too, though the article I read kind of buried the part where the cyber-security experts said there was virtually no way Russia could have hacked those stations without being detected.

I was wondering why this didn't come up sooner considering how much people were talking about Russia hacking and meddling prior to the election. Frankly if Russia did do something, as much as I despise Trump and want him out, I think it would be best to not find out. There would be some pretty awful consequences even if those that were wronged would be justified in poking that bear.

Yeah, for those who want a conspiracy theory, they have one now.  I'm fine if she challenges the results - it's her right and it's within the legal window to do so.  But I'd be stunned if she gets any state to switch.

I hope she doesn't, to me the consequences of a war with Russia or a civil war here seem at least plausible if fraud large enough to actually impact the results are uncovered.

And I'm someone who is absolutely sickened and embarrassed by the current results.

So you want to hypothetically allow Russia to rig our Presidential election just do you don't have to confront them?

You do realize all that does is make them think they can get away with anything.

I'm sorry, but that is a terrible way to deal with a problem.

Hypothetically, if Russia was able to meddle with the results **** will hit the fan. If the FBI is concerned about Clinton emails, they better be livid if Russia hacks us again.

I don't think burying our heads in the sand here is the appropriate response.

Doing something about it doesn't have to be public and doesn't have to mean armed conflict which is what people will call for if they even half suspect. But that wasn't what I meant, I meant Clinton shouldn't challenge the results even if there was fraud, which absolutely should be thoroughly investigated. Our nation is divided and Trump/GOP supporters would see a Clinton challenge as an affront to how they voted. If fraud happened Trump automatically becomes a Russian puppet and a notorious symbol most Americans, even those that voted for him can rally against. Getting rid of him and putting in Clinton would look like ripping up the constitution to half of our population with Trump becoming a sympathetic figure to plenty of people. Trump can be impeached, he can be ousted but Clinton can't get the job now.

Either way, unless we know for sure, yes we absolutely shouldn't encourage mass hysteria in our country. If we did have irrefutable evidence, then I guess I'm on board with considering all options.

Clinton is now more than 2M ahead in the popular vote. The margin of popular voting gives me pause as do the state results. Who had Trump ahead 5 in NC, 8 or 9 in Ohio and Iowa and with any kind of lead in PA, MI, or Wisconsin? Move those results to the polling average in the states and I bet Clinton's margin is about the 3.5% that most of the pollsters seemed to coalesce around in the last days.

It came up right away on the far left sort of sites, but then it's been shown more and more, that's all...

I'm not sure that there's anything to it, but it does look off for sure.

Looks like Jill Stein may save Clinton the trouble, as Stein is preparing to request recounts in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

I doubt any of this goes anywhere, but if it did, it will be better if Clinton isn't the face of the challenge.

Yes, this is a great move since Stein is already viewed as part of the lunatic fringe, not that she actually is. Clinton and the Democrats have to keep their noses as clean as possible on this to keep any hope of bipartisan unity regarding rigged elections.
