Yay! It appears he will start in place of Nolasco. I was hoping he'd get his start on Saturday at the Cell as he was planning to in Rochester, but oh well. Guess I'll head out to Geneva, IL on Saturday to see the Kernels instead.

I'm hoping for the best! It would sure suck if May gives up a half-dozen runs like the rest of them.

He might, but I would be a little less upset with those than if it were Stauffer giving up the runs as the starter.

I just hope the wind isn't blowing out to Right, like it was his last game at Hammond.

I guess at the end of the day, he's only pushed back a few days from where he'd have started when he broke camp... Then again, who'd have thought we'd go through 2 pitchers before the season was 3 games old.

May was at 33 pitches in his last start in FM. How long is his leash in the upcoming start?

As discussed elsewhere, the published count may have been very inaccurate on the low side all spring.

May in the starting rotation is the best newsI've heard all season. Of course.....it may also be the only good news I've heard this season so far......

Late in Spring Training, don't starters go pitch in the bullpen after they are pulled from the game to get their pitch count up?

As others allude to, that was taken from Gameday, and they weren't recording every pitch during spring training games. Just the ones that resulted in Ks, BBs, or balls in play.

His pitch count was probably around 80 for that game, not really different than the other starters at that point in spring training (Milone was estimated at 90 the day before).
