Ugh.  To start out an inning so well and then have this.

An argument can be made that this is not an enhancer at all.  Some people suffer from an abnormally high level of adrenaline when they are under stress.  Inderal takes them back to a more normal level of adrenaline.  It does not make them stronger or faster.  And in the case of a musician, it does not make him/her play any better than in rehearsal.

 

My sense is that Inderal is benign and should be allowed.  I am wondering what makes you think that it is bad.  Have you seen musicians suffer and side effects?

Yes, it does do good under certain conditions ... anxiety disorders, for instance. But to use in 'normal' situations, just to control 'normal' nerves is not really what they should be used for. And in those situations, they are not being used to control a diagnosed condition, but rather being used as a performance enhancer. If you can't handle the conditions of a performer without medicating, you should consider a change if profession.

Why in the hell is Fryer playing and not Suzuki? Seems like for the debut of a fairly important pitching prospect, you'd want to have the main catcher in there. They just extended his contract and talked about how they like how he calls a game and how the pitching staff loves him...and he's not playing tonight?!

 

There's walk number six for May and he hasn't even thrown two innings. Kid is clearly jittery and out of whack

Apparently because he was used to Fryer catching him in Rochester and Suzuki has to catch Hughes tomorrow.

 

But I agree, they talk so much about how Suzuki calms down pitchers, etc. you'd think they could have used him tonight.

Meyer had a pretty rough night tonight, too although it sounds like his control was better .... but Indianoplis scored 4 off him in 2 innings.  Of course, Indy has scored 14 so far tonight.

 

May had a tough place for a debut, though.  A really good team on the road.  Cross-country flight with lots of time to think about it.  Family and friends there.

 

Give him a mulligan for this one.
