  1. Yes you are right, the 2nd seed isn't worth going for. Rest for the first round boys, these games mean absolutely nothing.
  2. The poster suggested this because of concern about Polanco's frequent injuries. Not sure about that myself, I just want both bats in the lineup. I trust Maeda more than Ryan right now for a game 3 start. I think we have plenty of live pen arms for this 3 game series.
  3. The biggest story would be that Marcus Davenport listens to Phish, 😂
  4. Sonny got his work in during the hangover game. Nothing to see here. Most likely Sonny appreciates the Twins for guiding him to his most innings pitched since 2015. To, along with 2019, his by far best season since 2015. He knows, in this contract year, that wins are irrelevant is his negotiations for a new contract. My guess is he does and always has wanted to test free agency in his first opportunity to do so. After earning 10 years of service time he definitely has put in the time.
  5. Love watching Louie attack. The guy can be a weapon for us this post-season, no doubt. But closer? No. The Twins will continue to play matchups anyway. A great post-season for Varland will give him great confidence entering next season.... as a starter. He may gain some useful perspective as a reliever to help him improve as a starter going forward. Now if he goes through next season without improving from a number 4-5 type, then maybe the pen could be in his future.
  6. Man Louie Varland is looking like a weapon. Now that was fun to watch. Even when he caught that grounder and headed to first, he is fired up! This pen could really have some fireballers. We will find out this week who can make that first series. I would give Jax TBar and Duran some real rest with maybe just a tune up outting at the end.
  7. That's about as positive as it could be spun, good job! Still sucks, lol
  8. After watching his at bats for the Saints, I also have little confidence in Buxton right now.
  9. That's the way, celebrate a victory at home
  10. Seeing eye RBI single, 1-4, 2K, RBI
  11. 0-3 grounded into FC and trotted gingerly into the out at first. That Saint's gun has Bechtold hitting 99, lol Edit: Checked Statcast and Bechtold's fastball was 97-98 topping out at 98.8.
  12. It is clear the man does not have his legs under him. He cannot explode off the back foot.
  13. 0-2 with 2 K's
  14. This is my thinking. Now if Joe has another clunker with diminished velo it could change. Then it's Ober or Maeda. For the 3 game series maybe you don't need as many bullpen arms and Maeda gets the game 3 start, or Ober looks so good it's him.
  15. What evidence exists that shows center field is more dangerous than 3rd base?
  16. It probably came down to Steer or Julien. Julien does have better numbers. Would you prefer no moves are made? If you are aggressive, you do stand the chance of crapping out.
  17. I wonder who Falvey had do the deed. Maybe the scout they had dress up as Mini Me for Lewis. 😂
  18. I think I still care, lol. Definitely not as mercurial as I was in my youth. Judging by how many times you have posted on this board, maybe I'm not as invested as you, Chief. Sports has a place in my life, but when the game is over it's over. Baseball is great because there is likely another game tomorrow.
  19. Shame? Give me a break, I disagreed with the guy for lumping me in with his vision of sports fandom and expressed my opinion. Are you shaming me for shaming him, lol? If the Twins get swept out of the playoffs again, it would be pretty much a disaster, I get that. What I don't get is if you are going to be so "gloomy" about something, why keep doing it? I watch sports for entertainment and fun. A meaningless distraction from real world problems.
  20. Please don't lump me into this I don't agree at all. The Vikings have the 7th best winning percentage in the league over their existence. That means there are 25 fan bases that are even more beaten down, lol. I became a fan in the 70's and people cry about the SB losses. Yes of course I wish they had won them all, but that was a great team to follow. That 10 year run, or whatever it was, they were the best team in the league and provided the most entertainment possible. Ok your a nothing less than a championship is success guy? The Twins have 2. They did that as an underdog franchise in a league that does not offer a level playing field. We just came off of 90 or more losses in 6 out of 7 years to make the playoffs 3 out of 5 years and your miserable? This does not make sense to me, sorry. Last night the Twins crushed the Dirty Sox on the backs of young exciting talent and the Vikes beat themselves and almost Philly. I was very entertained.
  21. Maybe seeing how this thing could play out vs crappy teams with the lead we have, everybody could take a break from living and dieing with every damn move that is made? Ha ha ha, I crack myself up
  22. I suggest swipe text! One finger gliding around your screen
  23. In a stretch run with a comfortable lead it would be ridiculous not to rest Correa and his bum foot. He needs more than one day off.
