  1. Now Mr Softee, there's a guy you can trust!
  2. The Mariners are not helping things
  3. The Good Humor truck is apparently responsible for much trauma
  4. Makes me want a tropical drink with an umbrella
  5. What are we 3-3 against Toronto? Do we need to be afraid? Lol. Houston might have to use Valdez tomorrow, eh?
  6. Maybe. From where I sit the Twins don't seem to have that kind of muy macho character and that's a good thing, but of course I'm just on the outside looking in. Just a personal preference.
  7. Canha sure but with Pham I think you need to consider team chemistry.
  8. I'm just over reacting, it's the thin and dry air, right?
  9. I don't trust Joe in the playoffs
  10. Oh boy, Joe isn't helping his cause
  11. It's funny we were there for a week this summer and I didn't notice anything. Then again my only workouts were 12oz curls
  12. They are apparently taking the altitude effects seriously.
  13. I'll second that, avid DVR'r here, I watch all games on my schedule. It's easy to not see scores and FFing commercials is the only way to fly. The only drawback is not being able to participate live in game threads.
  14. It's funny reading the article you can tell the author hasn't spent much time watching the Twins and didn't consider last year. He just looked at the numbers. He lists our top relievers as Duran then Pagan. The overall tone is optimistic which may be warranted, hopefully!
  15. Yes and Pete Maki. He looked overwhelmed last year when Wes Johnson flew the coop, but turns out he might even be an improvement.
  16. That's what I'm saying. I also agree with the way he was handled this year and pushed back against those calling for him to pitch longer in games. Gray was handled very well too. The only mishap was Ryan, but that is on him. Part of the reason the Twins have such a good staff is the management of said staff.
  17. I think Jimbo may be right and Bailey could be ready for a full session with no restrictions next year. It is also a good policy to keep a close eye these endurance athletes, starting pitchers, and give them a late season break if necessary. Cut their innings a little at the end if necessary. Whatever they are doing, having the starters fresh and dialed in come playoff time is about as good as it gets.
  18. Yes but can you count on Lewis considering all the injuries? This makes your point too. Depth is good (except Gallo lol). The Twins have 3 rookies playing a big part in their division championship. This hasn't happened before, but yet there is complaining about young players being blocked? Brooks Lee is not ready. He will get a chance next year if he keeps progressing.
  19. I agree with almost all of this. The narrative that Gray wants to leave is unfounded and something I've been pushing back against since the beginning. I would, and have, argued that he is very happy with and appreciative of the Twins for guiding him to such a good year. His agent will thank them too, it being a contract year. However I'd be surprised if he got a 4 year deal. My guess is 3 max, but it is a small quibble.
  20. I agree and it is a good thing Kenta agreed to this as well. He did look really good down the stretch as a starter. As a long time Twins fan, it is crazy to see the arms the Twins have in their arsenal. The bullpen is the wildcard. The arm talent could be intimidating, hopefully the results match.
  21. I don't think Willi is a free agent until 2026. Next year is his first year of arbitration. This has turned out well to say the least.
  22. Has Rocco gone rogue? C'mon man their odds for the number 2 seed before yesterday were single digits at best and Rocco did not make this decision alone. The Twins have a luxury the other teams don't have as they beat up on each other. The smart play is to take advantage of that luxury and get this team ready for the games that count.
  23. Yes they could've continued to fruitlessly grind on the roster, but the second seed wasn't happening. Thankfully those in charge knew that. The last couple of times this team limped into the playoffs, missing key players and pitching AAAA guys in Yankee Stadium. We have a chance to come into a home playoff series relatively healthy and rested. What is there to complain about?
  24. What? Sorry but this is just flat out wrong. In the 6 years before they took over they had 5 years with at least 90 losses. One of those years was 100 losses. That is a .418 win percentage for those 6 years. They have a .527 win percentage in the 7 years since. Fact is they have been better. I want more, and we may get it this year, but let's keep it real.
