  1. My hope is that this is indicative of the Pohlads losing faith in Falvey/Baldelli and a fall housecleaning is coming!
  2. It would be nice if we had only one missing piece 🙃
  3. Every time I get fed up the FO being arrogant and stubborn, they go ahead and do something nice! I hope it works out for Lopez and his family!
  4. Not going to happen. He is a Boras client. Sad, but that is the spot the FO has gotten themselves into.
  5. I will say the win probability graphs have gotten a whole lot more interesting lately 🫣😁
  6. You forgot reason #4: The team has an 18 game post-season losing streak that needs to end!
  7. Most definitely! The Twins have had such a Jeckel & Hyde season, they should only be looking at recent performance to plan for a post-season run.
  8. And I have no doubt another organization could bring out more of their potential. That is a pretty common theme with AAA guys stuck in the Twins system.
  9. Gallo will not be DFA'd. That would destroy any bit of FA value he still has. He is a Boras client. Falvey has gotten very tight with Boras.
  10. Gray is the poster boy for why Ws & Ls don't make any more sense for starting pitchers than they do for relief pitchers given the way starters are currently managed.
  11. Why he should not be traded: it would be totally demoralizing to the one part of the team that is a high functioning, cohesive unit. Why he might be traded: it would be the spotlight, smartest person in the room move that is Falvey's speciality... "Who trades from the top 3 rated pitching staff on a first place team?"
  12. I think you are on to something. It sounds ludicrous, but the top 4-5 spots in the order seem to be decided by the marketing department via the FO!
  13. And Baldelli doesn't seem very pleased with Wallner being there.
  14. Let me go out on a limb here and say these 2 games have done far more to help this team become a cohesive unit in the second half of the season than a couple of blowouts would have. A double steal, home runs, bunts, Buck's battle for a run walked in run, and the bullpen holds are just what this team needed. Let's have another messy, all-hands-on-deck win and roll on to Seattle!
  15. That is literally what he did! In the post-game interview he said he didn't see the first fastball at all. So, he thought... just swing at the next pitch and see what happens!!
  16. That was a painful win to watch. But, it did reveal a few things... Buxton limpy visibly walking back to the dugout. The Twins can put together a passable offense when their best hitters are in the lineup at the same time! Poppins best value to the team is as designated ejectee!
  17. An Ohtani trade would fit Falvey's MO perfectly. Make a big news splash highlighting how smart he is, overpay and decimate the farm team! Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you view it) last year's deadline deals left the Twins with nothing much of value left to trade.
  18. From the topic I thought you were going to propose a massive trade of the entire staff. That’s likely the only way they will be playing in October 🥸 JK!
  19. That putrid performance in front of 90,000 last weekend might put a crimp in attendance for the rest of the season!
  20. Nobody goes to the plate trying to strike out. But somehow we have a team full of Gallos that have bought into the idea that a strike out is an acceptable outcome in pursuit of a HR... always. There is no nuanced thinking that some situations are better served by just putting the ball in play. Or hitting a sac fly. That is how you develop as a team. That is were coaching and game prep come into play.
  21. I wonder if the players got wind of Falvey's pregame interview on Bally. He essentially said they are satisfied with the team as they constructed it. Arrogant, obstinate and tone deaf!!!
  22. Friday, July 7, 2023. The day the Satire died 😰
  23. Expectations. RF is an offense first position. If the Twins had a screaming offense, we could say "yeah but he plays the Target Field RF like no one else". With a mediocre offense, missing that offensive piece is glaring.
