No, not upgrading the bullpen made no sense. Moran/Ortega/AAA guy will not see low leverage situations as long as the offense is striking out a dozen times a game.
I agree with standing pat on pitching and position players, and expecting them to perform at the level they are capable of. I think it was gross negligence to stand pat on a bullpen that is clearly second rate.
And I have no doubt another organization could bring out more of their potential. That is a pretty common theme with AAA guys stuck in the Twins system.
Gray is the poster boy for why Ws & Ls don't make any more sense for starting pitchers than they do for relief pitchers given the way starters are currently managed.
