    Playing 1st base for the Twins right now is not exactly run of the mill. You're either scooping up laser 1 hoppers from Correa, or "anybody's guess where it is going" from Polanco/Lewis. Many times they have used all of Gallo's 6'4" frame. That doesn't sound like a situation you want to throw your best young contact hitter into while he's still adjusting to the majors.

    Last night's game against the Phillies showed what the Twins look like playing a play-off caliber team.

    Baseball is a strange business to be in. Not for the faint of heart. You're running a multimillion dollar corporation whose customers are over the top passionate about the product. Your assets are squishy, in that April valuation is nearly guaranteed to be different in September. And that is just the baseball side. Throw in a media contract that is 20% of your revenue and a complete unknown for 2024. Yes, money is a factor in all your decisions.

    100% love that MAT does that every time he hits the ball! Can't stand watching players stand there and admire their home run and then find out it bounced off the top of the wall!

    Numbers look similiar, and Mancini would at least have been a familiar name fans might be interested in seeing instead of Who Now?

    This seems to be an entire organization that can’t adjust… Hitters, coaches, manager & FO. This year’s rule changes benefited the organizations that are able to adjust... Baltimore, Miami, DBacks, Reds. Since organizations are led from the top, I think the FO has to go. Anything farther down the chain will not change anything.

    If that Seattle offer is true, I would say the Twins (Falvey) get no respect as serious negotiators. Which may be the case given previous deals they’ve done.

    #1 is BS. Did you not have any fallback plans? Sounds like the Twins hitters not getting the pitch they are looking for and watching strike 3 go by! #2 is BS. Do you realize if you win the division you will not be playing an ALC team in the playoffs. What will you do then? If #3 is true, the FO should be fired. They very purposefully built this mess.

    I agree with standing pat on pitching and position players, and expecting them to perform at the level they are capable of. I think it was gross negligence to stand pat on a bullpen that is clearly second rate.

    My hope is that this is indicative of the Pohlads losing faith in Falvey/Baldelli and a fall housecleaning is coming!

    Every time I get fed up the FO being arrogant and stubborn, they go ahead and do something nice! I hope it works out for Lopez and his family!

    Most definitely! The Twins have had such a Jeckel & Hyde season, they should only be looking at recent performance to plan for a post-season run.

    And I have no doubt another organization could bring out more of their potential. That is a pretty common theme with AAA guys stuck in the Twins system.

    Gallo will not be DFA'd. That would destroy any bit of FA value he still has. He is a Boras client. Falvey has gotten very tight with Boras.
