  1. 6 innings, 1 run allowed is a heck of a way to start the year for SWR. Very encouraging, as it is highly probable he will be starting more games this year. Many more.
  2. I looked away for a moment when we were up 5-4, now 11-4?! Of course it was an error, god forbid this team have a clutch hit. Detroit put a position player in at pitcher with only a 4 run lead? Really? Don't think I've ever seen that. I get that this is a double-header but come on.
  3. Martin should never be below Castro and Vazquez in a lineup ever again... and probably Santana but we are multiple months away from the team realizing their mistake with him.
  4. Gotta love how Wallner takes the pitch right down the middle, then swings at two pitches nowhere near the strike zone. So many terrible PAs from these hitters so far this year.
  5. Well darn, they pulled it off. It feels like they were lucky just to win one game against the Dodgers.
  6. What specifically is going down for you?
  7. Not gonna win many games when you have 3 total hits...
  8. Wallner gets struck out thanks to two strikes called down and in, according to Gameday they are out of the strike zone. I guess that is the new meta to pitching against Wallner... throw balls that will be called strikes for whatever reason.
  9. Not sure what happened to him, and no corresponding move as of yet.
  10. One hit in seven innings... come on hitters!!
  11. Bring on the robo umps... then we can lose on our own merits, not with assistance from the umps.
  12. Well, they got Carrasco to throw 31 pitches in the 1st, despite not having a single hit...
  13. Right, we have a tendency to do that, but then he got placed in an organization with a top 5 QB and a pass-first offense where he produced. And yet he still hasn't been happy the past couple years there despite being on a perennial playoff contender.
  14. If true, A) the Twins front office should be fired this instant for trading a player of Polanco's value mostly for a AAAA starter and B) the Seattle front office looks very dumb for "throwing in" a top 100 prospect when they could have used Gonzalez as a chip in another trade. I've never heard of a prospect of that caliber being a throwaway addition outside of a megadeal. Well no, because DeScalfani isn't going to pitch until mid-2025 if he's lucky... but the trade doesn't go through without Gonzalez because he wasn't a throw-in, he was the main prize of the trade. Falvey may have said he didn't trade Polanco for the prospects and felt that starting pitching was their greatest need, but actions speak louder than words. Baffling actions to be sure, especially given how they spent their little money on Farmer, Margot, and Santana and have put themselves in this situation.
  15. So you're saying the top 100 prospect was just a throw-in? The fact that DeSclafani was the only MLB level starter they added was a terrible call, I agree with you there. But Gonzalez is by far the biggest chunk of value of that trade followed by Topa. It's not as if he doesn't have value as a trade chip, even if he isn't helping the major league team. I just wish they would have made a second trade for a starter that involved giving up a top prospect of ours after bolstering the farm with the Gonzalez addition.
  16. Why is he in the #5 spot? He should be in the #2-3 spot in the lineup.
  17. I thought that yesterday when it was 3-0... then we won 7-3.
  18. Larnach has already gotten three full chances the past three years in the majors. I loved him as a prospect, but you have to know when it's time to give up. He's not going to be a starter / impact player in the majors. Miranda is more of an enigma, but with the advent of him not being able to play 3B and being a butcher at 1B (last we saw him), he needs to hit really well to compensate for his lack of fielding ability. There's still a path to him playing a big role in the majors, especially if Carlos Santana fully goes off the rails.
  19. Paddack is allowing a lot of baserunners so far...
  20. Yikes, pulling Julien in the 4th inning? Really?
  21. So far this year, Gallo and Sano are a combined 1/24 so far with 12 strikeouts. 😬
  22. Gotta love how much the pitch clock sped things up! Oh wait...
