    Vegas has welcomed in a football team and a hockey team with roaring results, and I think they will be a great destination for the A's, but it is sad that Oakland will be losing them. It's pretty rare to see a team with that much history have to relocate.

    It's been quite the downward spiral since that 9 run inning vs the Yankees. I was concerned about the offense coming into the year, but I didn't think it'd be this bad... things will get better, but even then I still think this is a below average unit. Also probably should have signed at least one FA reliever - I'm not worried about Jax yet, but a good chunk of the bullpen is questionable (Moran/Alcala/Pagan). At least the rotation kicks butt!

    The track record for teams trading away 1st round QBs after giving up on them is very bad, and even if Lance does pan out, we only have 2 cheap years of control and then the 5th year option, and we may not know if we'd want to extend him the 5th year option the year prior. If Shanahan is giving up on him, then I'm out. But if you can get him on the cheap, OK, fine. I'd rather draft a rookie in the 1st round... just don't reach on one. They don't have to land one this year.

    With Sands and Winder likely to end up in the bullpen, I'd rather try to keep Headrick as a future option in the rotation.

    Take DRT in the 2nd round? Uh… I’d take him in the 5th, probably no higher. I get why people like him, but he profiles as a Day 3 prospect. Hooker is probably the guy if they take a QB in the 2nd round.

    Hey all, I've been working on my very own Mock Draft Simulator and it's currently up and running if you want to check it out. I whipped it up in the past month and a half, so it's pretty bare bones (no trading draft picks), but it uses my draft board (which you can find here). Here's a haul I just made:

    Teams should be bunting at least once per inning against the White Sox, they're so terrible at fielding that they'll screw up about half of them. It's pretty crazy how consistently bad they've been on defense the past couple years.

    Seems too early to say they nailed it, especially with the injuries that have popped up. Get back to me in another month or so and then we can talk.

    I didn't realize Headrick started the year in AAA, that's quite the promotion after just 10 games pitched in AA.

    We’ll see about Kirilloff and Lewis… but my long-term concern is that more injuries are going to mount over the next few months like they have the past two years.

    So far, things are panning out as expected... the starters look great, the bullpen is fine, and the hitters are very questionable... we're just not going to be scoring a lot of runs when Solano, Castro, and Taylor are in the same lineup.

    Thanks for the info, that’s intriguing. Looks like Benson was/is a decently highly regarded prospect with plus power but might strike out too much. They may come out of this trade with a couple quality MLB hitters.

    Let’s not forget the Reds also netted Steven Hajjar in the trade… it seems to me that they’ll need to extend Mahle if they want to get enough value out of this trade. If they lose Mahle over the winter, I think the trade is going to age poorly.

    Zero top 20 prospects? That's kinda hard to believe, but yeah, De Andrade is the only guy who's close. Huh.

    It's wild to see Lamonte Wade Jr. playing 1B and leading off for the Giants, and also Rob Refsnyder leading off for the Red Sox...

    Yup, I'm in love with it. No more sitting and waiting around, having less lull keeps my attention - maybe that's a me thing. But I think one day we're going to look back and wonder how we tolerated such slow games.

    If Bundy’s season could be called a success, then why did he have to settle for a MILB deal? He couldn’t even get $1M guaranteed! It’s telling that no major league team even considered putting Bundy or Archer into their rotation. Wisler pitched in 18 games for the Twins, I would hardly call that a successful acquisition.

    As I said elsewhere, I think Sands making the team has more to do with options remaining. If Hoffman and Coulombe had options, there would have likely been more consideration for holding onto them.

    Sands will be back in AAA sooner than later, but Maeda is probably going to get a decently long leash. I’m 90% sure Ober will be up due to an injury rather than Maeda flopping.

    I wouldn’t be concerned with Sands making the team, his spot is going to be the one that they rotate relievers to AAA and back. Probably why Hoffman didn’t make the team over him, since he has no options.

    So after two years of free agency, the only worthwhile player they signed was Correa... yep, turns out the only giving out 1 year deals to borderline players isn't a viable strategy to building a team that can win a single playoff game. Gotta hope the plan to only acquire pitchers via trade over free agency works out better.

    Rocco just said that Buxton is going to start the year as the DH... yikes, the injuries really are mounting.

    I wouldn't call Maeda a #2 starter since he hasn't pitched like one since 2020, but outside of that, I'd say we have 4 #2 starters. Definitely the best rotation, or at least depth in my time following the Twins.

    Dallas and Denver had offers on the table, reportedly. Looks like the Cowboys pulled the trigger on Cooks right after Thielen didn’t sign with them.
