  1. Twins set the record for the most runs scored in a series at Target Field! Thank you for those donation runs at the end, Cubs!
  2. Thanks for walking Correa, I guess they haven't figured out how bad he is in the clutch?
  3. The bullpen isn't that bad, it's difficult to defend tiny leads because your offense stinks.
  4. With Thielbar down and Jax blowing the game yesterday, Stewart is the next logical guy with Lopez and Duran finishing out the game. Not that I feel good about it, either.
  5. How the heck is Polanco not in the first four? Dude is by far our best hitter and Kirilloff is in the lineup higher than him?!
  6. This wreaks of when things went south last year...
  7. Fun fact: Gallo has 3 career sac flies…. No seriously.
  8. 16 innings now, 0.00 ERA and 0 BBs. I was high on him as a prospect, and now he seems to be panning out. At least they got Lopez in the trade and didn’t DFA him, but it’s not a great look if he ends up being an effective high leverage reliever for them.
  9. I don't mean to do the whole "told you so" thing, but... well, I wondered where the runs were going to come from, especially after we traded Arraez. I was worried about how the hitting would fare against lefties, the numbers are rough. These batters better wake up or it's gonna be a long summer... and there will probably be more injuries over the next few months. Yikes.
  10. Keep him in the rotation for the near future - if more injuries strike, move him to the pen. Seems straightforward to me.
  11. Well, Kirilloff is finally up. Larnach going down isn't a huge surprise with how poor he's been at the plate recently. At some point, one of our first rounder hitters has to step up. Larnach's not looking good, Kirilloff's wrist can't stay healthy and will probably sap his power, and Wallner deserves a shot but it looks like he's gonna strike out a lot. Not to mention Sabato, who may not even reach the majors with the Twins.
  12. He has solid numbers, but my real issue is that we signed zero major league relievers in free agency, and just assumed they'd be fine with what they have, when what they had wasn't as great as they thought. And yet again, here we are with holes in our bullpen early in the year, who could have seen that coming?
  13. I swear, you have a 50-50 chance of getting to 1B on a bunt against this Whie Sox defense!
  14. Stewart is being tasked with a big inning here… Probably a spot they wanted to use Pagan, if he were more trustworthy.
  15. Romero tried to bring marijuana across the border, IIRC. I don't think we have the details on Duran but it didn't sound like he was doing anything illegal.
  16. That was an intriguing first round, it felt like picks #11-18 were all weird reaches and left a lot of talent on the board... and then the Vikings took the 4th WR in the first round of a historically weak WR crop. Addison has serious upside, but I don't like how they left so much talent on the board, with Porter Jr/Banks/Murphy/Smith just sitting there. Or if they were dead-set on WR, then trade up for JSN, he's easily the best WR in this class. I'm not shocked at all that Hooker didn't go in the first round, his draft stock was inflated by the media to crazy degrees, he was never an option for the Vikings at #23. Levis falling to the 2nd is a big shock, especially with the odds of him going #2 or #4 were so high. So much for trading up to #3 to get him, they didn't even want him at #23, and no team was even willing to trade up to 31 for him!
  17. Yup, here come the pitching injuries, Mahle is probably going to be sidelined alongside Maeda. At least we have Ober/Varland ready and then also SWR/Headrick too. I've been encouraged by what I've seen out of Varland and Headrick in the majors. The Mahle trade is looking pretty rough so far...
  18. Turns out they skipped Maeda's previous turn in the rotation for a good reason... Color me surprised on Gallo so far, let's hope he can maintain this level of slugging later in the year. He was signed to play outfield initially, and he derives quite a bit of his value from playing well in the corners, so I expect him to be out there once Kirilloff is back, it just remains to be see if Kirilloff can hold down the 1B job.
  19. My point was that if both Martin and SWR flop, we lose because we could have turned Berrios' trade value into something else, there were other teams that had given the Twins offers on him. Failing to turn 1.5 years of control of him into a single useful MLB player would be a loss in my book. Obviously too early to call, but the trade is looking questionable for both sides right now.
  20. They've gotten Kuhl to throw 70+ pitches and it's only the third, maybe they can get to the bullpen and start doing more damage?
  21. Bad starts happen, it's just surprising to see it against the Nationals. You have to think the Twins can put up a few runs against Kuhl...
  22. Sounds like the spitting image of Jake Odorizzi - gets the Ks, but throws too many pitches and is usually 'good enough' but never takes the next step. Yeah, I'd be fine not paying a bunch for Gray, with the likes of Varland/Ober/SWR in the wings.
  23. Wow, was that 3 outs within 60 seconds?!
